PennDOT’s Washington County Maintenance Update
Week of February 3, 2020


Washington – Washington County Acting Maintenance Manager, J. Scott Finch, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of February 3, 2020.  All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis.  Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

Boom mowing is planned for SR 2039 (Segment 12 to 72) – Main Street; SR 2041 (Segment 10 to 210) – Sandy Plains Road.  Brushing is planned for SR 88 (Segment 90 to 260) – Front Street and Blainesburg Hill Road; and SR 2039 (Segment 12 to 72) – Main Street.

Work on washouts is scheduled for SR 136 (Segment 180 to 310) – Main Street.

Pipe Replacement is scheduled for SR 231 (Segment 10) – East Finley Drive and SR 331 (Segment 130 to 180) – Brush Run Road.  Pipe Repair is scheduled for SR 231 (Segment 10 to 40) – East Finley Drive.

Cleaning of drains is scheduled for SR 4061 (Segment 50 to 120) – Farrar School Road; SR 844 (Segment 190 to 250) – Jefferson Avenue; SR 4003 (Segment 80 to 100) – Purdy Road, and SR 4009 (Segment 50 to 60) – Bulgar Candor Road.

Cleaning of inlets/outlets is planned for SR 221 (Segment 190 – 200) South Bridge Road and SR 231 (Segment 30) – East Finley Drive. 

Cleaning of ditchline on SR 231 (Segment 260 to 270) -East Finley Drive and SR 3009 (Segment 60 to 170) – Craycraft Road and South Sunset Beach Road.

Patching is planned on SR 50 (Segment 10 to 200) – Avella Road.

PENNDOT has a 24-hour toll free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
