Projects that will tentatively be let in 2018 and start construction.<br><br><br><br><br>District-wide Projects<br><br>Repaving and Joint Repair Project – 12-18-CJR – SR 79-0 – This project is to perform center and edge line joint repair on Interstates 70 and 79 throughout Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties as needed to preserve pavement and improve ride quality. This also includes work on a portion of I-70 in Washington County between Bentleyville Interchange and Centerville Interchanges.&nbsp; Lane Construction Corporation of Cheshire, CT is the apparent low bidder with a contract amount of $13.3 Million.&nbsp; There will also be rock scaling on various routes in the counties. <br>Update: Work has begun between the Bentleyville and Centerville interchanges and its night work.&nbsp; 7PM to 5AM. Currently, work is not planned for this coming week of August 20.<br><br>High Friction Surface Treatment / Raised Pavement Markers — These will occur on various routes in Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties. The project work will place a high friction surface in various areas that are prone to vehicles sliding on the roadway on curves or at intersections.&nbsp; The project has been awarded to RAM Construction Services of Michigan for $1.09 million.&nbsp; <br><br>Project # 106710 D-12 Superstructure 2017-2 SR1051-05M – This project is for the superstructure replacement / rehabilitation of 6 bridges 3-located in Fayette County, and 3 in Westmoreland County. The contractor on this $2.95 million contact is Swank Construction Company. <br>Updates: <br><br>Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>Route 982 – Open to traffic.<br><br>Route 1021 (Springer Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>Route 4081 (Wildlife Lodge Road) – Opened. <br><br>Route 4028 (Tippecanoe Road) – The bridge is closed and a detour is in place. It will tentatively be completed by August 23. <br><br>D12 3c SINC-UP Project – This project is for signal coordination with equipment upgrades in North Huntingdon Township and Irwin Borough, Westmoreland County on Route 30 between Thompson Lane and Jacks Run Road, along with a few signals within close proximity.&nbsp; This contract also includes signal coordination in the City of Washington, Washington County on Main Street between Walnut Street and Maiden Street.&nbsp; The contractor for this $436,668.48 project is Bronder Technical Services, Inc.&nbsp; <br>Update: Minor work related to the coordination on corridor remains to be completed. The new timings continue to be monitored and adjusted for optimal coordination. <br><br><br>Fayette County<br><br>Route 4028 (Grindstone Road) over Rowes Run – Route 4028 D11 – This project includes the replacement of two structures – one over Rowes Run and one over Redstone Creek in Redstone Township. The contractor on this $3 million project is Clearwater Construction, Inc. it will tentatively complete in October 2018. <br>Update:&nbsp; Construction continues on the Route 4028 Bridge over Rowes Run. The Contractor is currently constructing the new structure and will also be installing inlet and pipe for the new roadway. Road work including paving is expected to begin in September. The road is closed and a detour is currently in place while the bridge is being replaced. Motorists should follow the posted detour.<br><br>Route 4038 (Quaker Church Road) – A section of Route 4038 is closed between Route 51 and Route 201 is closed and detoured through September 7. The closure is in place so that the superstructure carrying Quaker Church Road over a small creek can be replaced. A marked detour is in place. <br>Update: Beams are set and barrier walls are being constructed. <br><br>Fayette County Bridge #102 – This local project is for the replacement of the county bridge that carries Route 7206 (Church Street Extension) over York Run in Georges Township. The contractor on this $496,887 project is J.F. Shea Construction Co, Inc.<br>Update: Contractor began work for the replacement of the bridge on 7/30/2018. The contractor is currently performing structure backfill for the new box culvert. Approach roadwork will follow. <br><br>Project #98411 Route 166 from Hibbs to Brownsville SR 166 06R –This is a pavement preservation and safety improvement project for Route 166 in Hibbs to Brownsville in German, Luzerne and Redstone townships in Fayette County. The project includes base repair, milling, resurfacing, slide repair, bridge spall repair, signal replacement, drainage, guide rail, tree trimming, delineation and signing. The project is located on Route 166 between Route 4004 (Ralph - New Salem Road) and Route 40.&nbsp; The contract has been awarded to A. Folino Construction for $4.57 million. <br>Update:&nbsp; Roadway widening has started. This work will be done under flagging operations when needed. Please drive slowly and be award of construction personnel and equipment.<br><br>Project #75996 SR 201 – J10 – This project is for the replacement of the structure carrying Route 201 (Blue Star Road) over Virgin Run in Franklin Township, Fayette County. The existing structure will be replaced with a single cell precast concrete box culvert. The existing horizontal alignment has an undesirable reverse curve and the proposed alignment is designed to eliminate the curve. It will tentatively be let in September 2018.<br><br>Project #105309 Route 4010 Bridge – This project is for improvements to the Route 4010 Bridge (Laurel Hill Road) over Bute Run in Franklin Township. It has a tentative let date in September 2018.<br><br>Project #107346 – Ohiopyle Multimodal Gateway – The project will address the safest way to get pedestrians, specifically kayakers from the parking areas to the new visitor&#39;s center and the entrance to the boat launches, as well as bridge rehabilitation activities to the structure carrying Route 381 over the Youghiogheny River at the Northern limit of the project. The project has a tentative let date in October 2018&nbsp;&nbsp; <br><br>Greene County<br><br><br><br>Route 19 Culvert Repair – This project is the repair of a concrete arch culvert on Route 19 (Mount Morris Road) at the intersection of Laurel Run Road. The scope includes scour protection, wingwall stabilization and concrete repairs. <br><br>Project #76039 Route 1016 (Whiteley Road) Bridge Rehabilitation – This project is for the rehabilitation for the bridge that carries Route 1016 (Whiteley Road) over Little Whiteley Creek in Monongahela Township. It has a tentative let date in October 2018.&nbsp; <br><br><br>Washington County<br>&nbsp;<br>Interstate 70 Bentleyville Interchange – SR 70 21H –This project involves the total reconstruction of Interstate 70 from approximately ¾ mile west of the Ginger Hill interchange (Exit 32-A) extending east approximately ¾ mile west of the Bentleyville interchange (Exit 32-B). The project includes the widening of Interstate 70 to provide a wider median; lengthening and reconfiguring ramp acceleration and deceleration lanes; replacement of the bridge carrying I-70 over Route 2040, Pigeon Creek, and Norfolk Southern Railroad; replacement of the bridge carrying Route 917 over I-70; and secondary roadway improvements. This work will occur in Washington County within the Borough of Bentleyville, and Somerset and Fallowfield Townships. Completion is scheduled for December 2018. The Contractor on this $75.9 million project is Golden Triangle Construction Company, Inc.<br>Update: Work is nearing completion on the West bound I-70 bridge and roadway. Traffic will be shifted onto the new concrete roadway and ramps West bound in the coming week, weather permitting. The exact day is indefinite, depending on the weather. Motorists are urged to use caution while travelling thru the project.<br><br>Interstate 70 from Beau Street to Route 519 – SR 70 T10/W31 – This project is for the reconstruction of the Interstate. Interstate 70 (I-70) between Beau Street (Route 136) and the State Route 519 Interchange.&nbsp; The project is a combination of two sections of I-70.&nbsp; The western section of the project (Section T10) from Beau Street to I-79 South Junction is the second phase of the Department’s plan to widen I-70 from two lanes to three lanes in each direction between the I-79 North and South Junctions. The Beau Street Interchange (Exit 20) at the western end of the project will remain as it exists today.&nbsp; <br>The eastern portion of the project (Section W31) from I-79 South Junction to the Route 519 interchange will reconstruct the four-lane section of I-70. The contractor on this $118 million project is The Lane Construction Corporation. It will tentatively complete in October 2020.<br>Update: Interstate 70 is maintaining 2 lanes of traffic in each direction. W31: crews are excavating waste sites, and performing stream relocation, T10: contractor is excavating waste sites. The work consists of abutment rehabilitation, beam replacement, deck replacement, minor approach work and other miscellaneous construction. The locations are Route 221/03M in Blaine Township over Buffalo Creek between Buffalo Creek Road and Route 4047 (Reed Road). Route 1059/D10 (Sugar Run Road) in Nottingham Township over Mingo Creek between Petticoat Lane and Sichi Hill Road). Rou te 2011/P10 (Beallsville Road) in West Bethlehem and Amwell Townships over Little Ten Mile Creek between Brush Run Road and Bayne Avenue. Route 3004/A10 (Dutch Fork Church Road) in Donegal Township over Dutch Fork between lake Road and Jansen Road. Route 3009/G10 (Sunset Beach Road) in Buffalo Township over Buffalo Creek between Green Valley Road and Route 3006 (Newman Road). Route 3035/M10 (Craft Creek Road) in Morris Township over Crafts Creek between South Bridge Road and Winding Road. Route 4006/C10 (Francis Mine Road) in Hanover over Harmon Creek between Hanlin Station Road and Dinsmore Dam Road. Route 4035/A10 (Lynn Portal Road) over Georges Run in Canton and Chartiers townships between Henderson Road and Airport Road. The Contractor on this $4.5 Million project is Swank Construction Company, with the tentative completion date in October of 2018.<br>Update: <br>Route 3035 (Craft Creek Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>The contractor started Route 4035 A10 (Lynn Portal Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>The contractor started Route 4006 C10 (Francis Mine Road) in Hanover and Smith townships in Washington County on June 18 through August 21.&nbsp; A marked detour will be in place utilizing Route 4006 (Francis Mine Road), Dinsmore Avenue, Main Street, Route 18, Route 4004 (Steubenville Pike), and Route 4005 (Hanlin Station Road). <br><br>A section of Route 3009 G10 (North Sunset Beach Road) will be closed at the bridge over Buffalo Creek in Buffalo Township, Washington County. Work begins on Monday June 11 with a tentative completion date of August 22. The closure will be in place to replace the beams and bridge deck along with miscellaneous roadway work.&nbsp; A marked detour will be in place utilizing Route 3009 (North Sunset Beach Road), Route 221 (Green Valley Road), US 40, Route 231, Route 4024 (Claysville Taylorstown Ridge Road), Route 3006 (Newman Road) back to Route 3009. <br><br>A section of Route 221 03M (Buffalo Creek Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>Route 1059-D10 (Sugar Run Road): A section of roadway will be closed at the bridge over Mingo Creek in Nottingham Township, Washington County. Work began on July 30 with a tentative completion date of October 25. The closure will be in place to replace the beams and bridge deck along with miscellaneous roadway work. A marked detour will be in place utilizing 1059 (Sugar Run road), Meadowbrook Road, Route 1057 (Valley View road) back to Route 1059 (Sugar Run Road). <br><br>Route 3004-A10 (Dutch Fork Road): A section of roadway will be closed at the bridge over Dutch Fork of Buffalo Creek in Donegal Township, Washington County. Work began on August 1 with a tentative completion date of October 10. The closure will be in place to replace the beams and bridge deck along with miscellaneous roadway work. A marked detour will be in place utilizing Route 3001 (Lake Road), US 40, Route 231, back to Route 3004 (Dutch Fork Church Road).<br><br>Route 2011-P10 (Lone Pine Road): A section of roadway will be closed at the bridge over Little Ten Mile Creek in West Bethlehem and Amwell Townships, Washington County. Work begins on August 13 with a tentative completion date of October 17. The closure will be in place to replace the beams and bridge deck along with miscellaneous roadway work. A marked detour will be in place utilizing Route 2011 (Lone Pine Road), Route 2013 (Little Daniels Run Road), Route 2005 (Brush Run Road), back to Route 2011 Lone Pine Road. <br><br>Route 4012 over Robinson Run 2 –This is a bridge rehabilitation project for the bridge that carries Route 4012 (Nobelstown Road) over Robinson Run between Robinson and Mt. Pleasant townships. This contract is in pre-award status. The apparent low bidder on this $1.34 million job is Frank Gavlik &amp; Sons, Inc.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br>Update: Utility relocation work continues, Frank Gavlik &amp; Sons has begun excavation to place the rock embankments on the north side of the project.&nbsp; Expect trucks entering the roadway and single lane closures at times.&nbsp; Nobelstown Road will remain open throughout construction.<br><br>Interstate 70 – 21R – This is a pavement preservation project on Interstate 70 from the West Virginia line mile post 0 to 4.5. The project will include resurfacing and guiderail updates. Detours will be in place to pave West Alexander Interchange. The project will also include overlays on Route 3021 (McGuffey Road) and Route 3023 (Old Brick Road). The contractor on this $9.5 million project is The Lane Construction Corporation.<br>Update: The contractor is performing median mound reconstruction. Guiderail is being installed west bound, Contractor will be finishing paving main line westbound this week and start sawing and sealing next week. Starting Monday August 20th contractor will start paving cold recycle asphalt on SR3023 and 3021 work schedule roadway to be closed while paving.<br><br>Project #98344 Route 1002 Resurfacing – This is a resurfacing / restoration project for approximately 4.2 miles of Route 1002 from Route 19 (Donaldson’s Crossroads) to the Allegheny County Line.&nbsp; The contractor on the $2.1 million project is A.Folino Construction, Inc. It is scheduled for completion September 2018.<br>Update: The contractor A. Folino Construction, Inc.&nbsp; is currently doing drainage at the end of the project near the Allegheny County line. Also, the contractor began Milling Route 1002 starting from Route 19 and going East, past the Peters Twp. High School. There are signs posted for rough road ahead until the paving begins on Sunday night August 19th. There is a 10&#39; lane restriction on East McMurray Rd. (Route 1002). At times there may be one lane with flagger control due to trucks coming in and out of lane for loading of material.&nbsp; Motorists should expect delays and take precaution in the work zone as the speed limit is posted and reflects a lower speed while travelling within a construction/work zone.<br><br>Route 4019 over Little Racoon Creek – This is a bridge replacement project. The existing single lane bridge will be replaced with a two-lane precast concrete box culvert. The project is scheduled to start in late August. A full closure and posted detour will be in place. <br><br>Project #57201 Route 519 at Route 980 and I-79 – This project involves safety improvements to the intersections of Route 519 with Route 980, US 19, and ramps for Interstate 79 in North Strabane Township, Washington County. Also under consideration are safety improvements to the Route 519 corridor between the intersections such as delineation, guiderail upgrades, rumble strips, and turn lanes. It has a tentative let date in late September 2018.<br><br><br><br>Westmoreland County<br><br>Route 981 at Kennametal –&nbsp; SR 981 V10 –The scope of work will include full depth reconstruction and adding a center left turn lane from Arnold Palmer Drive to the Airport entrance; a new connector road between Route 2027 (Charles Houck Rd) and Route 981 including a roundabout at the Airport entrance. This roadway improvement will replace the existing Route 981/Route 2027 intersection. From the Airport entrance to T-881 (Airport Road), 3R (Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation) criteria will be the basis for the roadway improvements. In addition, left turn lanes will be installed at the Route 981/Bay Hill Drive intersection. Guide rail, pavement markings, signing and drainage will be updated within the project limits as well as other miscellaneous construction. This contactor on this $13.9 million project is Plum Contracting, Inc. <br>Update: The project is nearly complete. A few items of work remain as well as general project clean-up. Travel through the project area may be minimally impacted.&nbsp; PennDOT would like to thank you all for your patience while we constructed this project. <br><br>Route 981 over Loyalhanna Creek – SR 981 10F –This project is for the rehabilitation of the existing 3-span reinforced concrete arch bridge over Loyalhanna Creek in Latrobe including approach roadway, sidewalk, updating guide rail, pavement marking, lighting, and signing. The project begins at the Route 981/Unity Street intersection and ends 175 feet east of the Route 981 northbound / Water Street intersection and Route 981 southbound / Jefferson Street intersection. The contractor on this $4.8 million project is Mosites.<br>Update: Both northbound and southbound lanes are now open to traffic. The underside of the arches is now under construction, leaving Water Street closed, except to local traffic only. As this work is completed, cleanup, scour protection, and minor cosmetic touchups may be intermittently completed with little or no impact to traffic.<br><br>Route 31 Donegal Interchange – SR 31 X10 – This project is for realignment of Route 31 at the Donegal Turnpike Interchange with the addition of a signalized continuous “T” intersection and installation of traffic signals and turning lanes at the Route 31/Route 711 intersection.&nbsp; Relocation of School House Road at Mountain View Road and Kings Way at Route 711 to create plus intersections will occur with the addition of signals and turning lanes.&nbsp; Other widening for center turning lanes and increasing sight distance will occur on Route 31, as well as waterline relocation, drainage and signing upgrades, and milling and paving from approximately 450 feet west of Hellein School Road to 525 feet east of the Route 31/Route 2031, Route 711/Route 381 intersection.&nbsp; Plum Contracting, Inc. is the prime contractor on this $19.8 million project. The project is anticipated to be completed by December 3, 2018.<br>Update:&nbsp; Paving for current phase should finish up in the next few weeks and traffic will be switched onto the new pavement.&nbsp; Drainage work will continue at the SR 31 &amp; SR 381 Intersection.&nbsp; A 2-day closure of School House Lane is expected 8/23/18 and 8/24/18 to construct a tie-in to the new road.&nbsp; Various single lane closures will be ongoing for guiderail installations, painting lane shifts, and other miscellaneous work. <br><br>Route 31 Main Street, Mount Pleasant Boro and East Huntingdon Township – SR 31 03R – This project involves improvements to Route 31 (Main Street) in Mount Pleasant Boro beginning at the intersection with Bridgeport Street (Route 2001) in Mount Pleasant Boro and extending thru town to the intersection with Route 119 in East Huntingdon Township. The Contractor on this $7.5 million project is Michael Facchiano Contracting, Inc. The project includes: milling and paving the roadway; reconstructing the intersections in concrete; adding new drainage; traffic signals and other miscellaneous construction improvements. This project is scheduled to be completed in September 2018.<br><br>Route 906 from 4th Street to the Monessen Riverfront Business Park – Route 906 C10 –This project is for the reconstruction of this section of Route 906. The contractor on this $4,339,310 project is Morgan Excavating, L.P.<br>Update: Impact attenuators and barrier wall are set in 5 locations from 8th Street to Maronda Way (12th Street). Contractor is working on placing concrete in ADA Ramps and curb and gutter on Donner Ave. Also getting area prep for Asphalt paving operations. There is a 10” lane restriction on Donner Ave going south bound, on Route 906. Motorists continue to expect delays and drive with caution through the work zone.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br><br>Westmoreland County Bridge #14 – This local project is for work on the bridge that carries Story Road over Beaver Run in Salem Township. The contractor on this $831,568 project is Plum Contracting, Inc. <br>Update: The bridge is closed and a posted detour is implemented. The contractor is currently working on the foundation for the new structure. Due to unforeseen field conditions with the footer construction, the original project completion date will not be met.<br><br>Route 130 at Pleasant Valley Road – This project is for an intersection improvement for Route 130 at Pleasant Valley Road in Penn Township. It has a completion of mid-November 2018. The contractor on this $3.6 million project is Tedesco Construction Company.<br>Update: The contractor began night work on August 13 to do the road crossings for drainage. Daylight activities presently going on are the installation of the temporary traffic signals. The placement of the curbs will begin the week of August 20.<br><br>Route 3009/3015 – SR 3009 (Lenity School Road) and SR 3015 (Turkey Hollow Road) is closed to allow the replacement of a small structure with a precast box culvert. The road is currently closed and detoured. Work is expected to be complete by August 31st. <br>Update: the box culvert is set and the slab is poured. Barrier walls are being constructed.<br><br>Project #76084 Route 31 and the Brush Run Bridge – SR 31 09M -- This bridge preservation project is for the bridge that carries Route 31 over Brush Run in Mt. Pleasant Township. The bridge will get a new overlay and waterproofing and barrier. The contractor on this project is C. H. &amp; D. Enterprises, Inc. $400,256.70.&nbsp; <br>Update: Shoulder work is continuing to be performed on both sides of the bridge while traffic remains restricted to 11’ lanes. Work includes demolition of the old parapet walls and constructing of new ones. Also, work is still being done underneath the bridge to rehabilitate the existing abutments by placing reinforced concrete collars, crack injection sealing, and concrete repairs. <br><br>Project #74434 Route 3101 over Jacks Run – This project is for the bridge replace of Route 3101 (Keystone Avenue) over Jacks Run in South Greensburg Borough and Hempfield Township. The tentative completion of this project will be in August 2019. The apparent low bidder on this $864,057 project is J.F, Shea Construction. <br><br>Project #88073 Route 981 Bridge over Unity Run – This project is for bridge improvements on Route 981 (Lloyd Avenue) over Unity Run in Latrobe Borough. It has a tentative let date in October 2018.&nbsp; <br><br>Project #70100 PA 356 Truck climbing Lane – This project involves the reconstruction of the truck climbing lane on Route 356 Freeport Bridge to T-781 (Crain Road) Allegheny Township. It has a tentative let date of December 2018.<br><br><br>Projects that will tentatively be let in 2018 and start construction.<br><br><br><br><br>District-wide Projects<br><br>Repaving and Joint Repair Project – 12-18-CJR – SR 79-0 – This project is to perform center and edge line joint repair on Interstates 70 and 79 throughout Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties as needed to preserve pavement and improve ride quality. This also includes work on a portion of I-70 in Washington County between Bentleyville Interchange and Centerville Interchanges.&nbsp; Lane Construction Corporation of Cheshire, CT is the apparent low bidder with a contract amount of $13.3 Million.&nbsp; There will also be rock scaling on various routes in the counties. <br>Update: Work has begun between the Bentleyville and Centerville interchanges and its night work.&nbsp; 7PM to 5AM. Currently, work is not planned for this coming week of August 20.<br><br>High Friction Surface Treatment / Raised Pavement Markers — These will occur on various routes in Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties. The project work will place a high friction surface in various areas that are prone to vehicles sliding on the roadway on curves or at intersections.&nbsp; The project has been awarded to RAM Construction Services of Michigan for $1.09 million.&nbsp; <br><br>Project # 106710 D-12 Superstructure 2017-2 SR1051-05M – This project is for the superstructure replacement / rehabilitation of 6 bridges 3-located in Fayette County, and 3 in Westmoreland County. The contractor on this $2.95 million contact is Swank Construction Company. <br>Updates: <br><br>Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>Route 982 – Open to traffic.<br><br>Route 1021 (Springer Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>Route 4081 (Wildlife Lodge Road) – Opened. <br><br>Route 4028 (Tippecanoe Road) – The bridge is closed and a detour is in place. It will tentatively be completed by August 23. <br><br>D12 3c SINC-UP Project – This project is for signal coordination with equipment upgrades in North Huntingdon Township and Irwin Borough, Westmoreland County on Route 30 between Thompson Lane and Jacks Run Road, along with a few signals within close proximity.&nbsp; This contract also includes signal coordination in the City of Washington, Washington County on Main Street between Walnut Street and Maiden Street.&nbsp; The contractor for this $436,668.48 project is Bronder Technical Services, Inc.&nbsp; <br>Update: Minor work related to the coordination on corridor remains to be completed. The new timings continue to be monitored and adjusted for optimal coordination. <br><br><br>Fayette County<br><br>Route 4028 (Grindstone Road) over Rowes Run – Route 4028 D11 – This project includes the replacement of two structures – one over Rowes Run and one over Redstone Creek in Redstone Township. The contractor on this $3 million project is Clearwater Construction, Inc. it will tentatively complete in October 2018. <br>Update:&nbsp; Construction continues on the Route 4028 Bridge over Rowes Run. The Contractor is currently constructing the new structure and will also be installing inlet and pipe for the new roadway. Road work including paving is expected to begin in September. The road is closed and a detour is currently in place while the bridge is being replaced. Motorists should follow the posted detour.<br><br>Route 4038 (Quaker Church Road) – A section of Route 4038 is closed between Route 51 and Route 201 is closed and detoured through September 7. The closure is in place so that the superstructure carrying Quaker Church Road over a small creek can be replaced. A marked detour is in place. <br>Update: Beams are set and barrier walls are being constructed. <br><br>Fayette County Bridge #102 – This local project is for the replacement of the county bridge that carries Route 7206 (Church Street Extension) over York Run in Georges Township. The contractor on this $496,887 project is J.F. Shea Construction Co, Inc.<br>Update: Contractor began work for the replacement of the bridge on 7/30/2018. The contractor is currently performing structure backfill for the new box culvert. Approach roadwork will follow. <br><br>Project #98411 Route 166 from Hibbs to Brownsville SR 166 06R –This is a pavement preservation and safety improvement project for Route 166 in Hibbs to Brownsville in German, Luzerne and Redstone townships in Fayette County. The project includes base repair, milling, resurfacing, slide repair, bridge spall repair, signal replacement, drainage, guide rail, tree trimming, delineation and signing. The project is located on Route 166 between Route 4004 (Ralph - New Salem Road) and Route 40.&nbsp; The contract has been awarded to A. Folino Construction for $4.57 million. <br>Update:&nbsp; Roadway widening has started. This work will be done under flagging operations when needed. Please drive slowly and be award of construction personnel and equipment.<br><br>Project #75996 SR 201 – J10 – This project is for the replacement of the structure carrying Route 201 (Blue Star Road) over Virgin Run in Franklin Township, Fayette County. The existing structure will be replaced with a single cell precast concrete box culvert. The existing horizontal alignment has an undesirable reverse curve and the proposed alignment is designed to eliminate the curve. It will tentatively be let in September 2018.<br><br>Project #105309 Route 4010 Bridge – This project is for improvements to the Route 4010 Bridge (Laurel Hill Road) over Bute Run in Franklin Township. It has a tentative let date in September 2018.<br><br>Project #107346 – Ohiopyle Multimodal Gateway – The project will address the safest way to get pedestrians, specifically kayakers from the parking areas to the new visitor&#39;s center and the entrance to the boat launches, as well as bridge rehabilitation activities to the structure carrying Route 381 over the Youghiogheny River at the Northern limit of the project. The project has a tentative let date in October 2018&nbsp;&nbsp; <br><br>Greene County<br><br><br><br>Route 19 Culvert Repair – This project is the repair of a concrete arch culvert on Route 19 (Mount Morris Road) at the intersection of Laurel Run Road. The scope includes scour protection, wingwall stabilization and concrete repairs. <br><br>Project #76039 Route 1016 (Whiteley Road) Bridge Rehabilitation – This project is for the rehabilitation for the bridge that carries Route 1016 (Whiteley Road) over Little Whiteley Creek in Monongahela Township. It has a tentative let date in October 2018.&nbsp; <br><br><br>Washington County<br>&nbsp;<br>Interstate 70 Bentleyville Interchange – SR 70 21H –This project involves the total reconstruction of Interstate 70 from approximately ¾ mile west of the Ginger Hill interchange (Exit 32-A) extending east approximately ¾ mile west of the Bentleyville interchange (Exit 32-B). The project includes the widening of Interstate 70 to provide a wider median; lengthening and reconfiguring ramp acceleration and deceleration lanes; replacement of the bridge carrying I-70 over Route 2040, Pigeon Creek, and Norfolk Southern Railroad; replacement of the bridge carrying Route 917 over I-70; and secondary roadway improvements. This work will occur in Washington County within the Borough of Bentleyville, and Somerset and Fallowfield Townships. Completion is scheduled for December 2018. The Contractor on this $75.9 million project is Golden Triangle Construction Company, Inc.<br>Update: Work is nearing completion on the West bound I-70 bridge and roadway. Traffic will be shifted onto the new concrete roadway and ramps West bound in the coming week, weather permitting. The exact day is indefinite, depending on the weather. Motorists are urged to use caution while travelling thru the project.<br><br>Interstate 70 from Beau Street to Route 519 – SR 70 T10/W31 – This project is for the reconstruction of the Interstate. Interstate 70 (I-70) between Beau Street (Route 136) and the State Route 519 Interchange.&nbsp; The project is a combination of two sections of I-70.&nbsp; The western section of the project (Section T10) from Beau Street to I-79 South Junction is the second phase of the Department’s plan to widen I-70 from two lanes to three lanes in each direction between the I-79 North and South Junctions. The Beau Street Interchange (Exit 20) at the western end of the project will remain as it exists today.&nbsp; <br>The eastern portion of the project (Section W31) from I-79 South Junction to the Route 519 interchange will reconstruct the four-lane section of I-70. The contractor on this $118 million project is The Lane Construction Corporation. It will tentatively complete in October 2020.<br>Update: Interstate 70 is maintaining 2 lanes of traffic in each direction. W31: crews are excavating waste sites, and performing stream relocation, T10: contractor is excavating waste sites. Route 1059/D10 (Sugar Run Road) in Nottingham Township over Mingo Creek between Petticoat Lane and Sichi Hill Road). Rou te 2011/P10 (Beallsville Road) in West Bethlehem and Amwell Townships over Little Ten Mile Creek between Brush Run Road and Bayne Avenue. Route 3004/A10 (Dutch Fork Church Road) in Donegal Township over Dutch Fork between lake Road and Jansen Road. Route 3009/G10 (Sunset Beach Road) in Buffalo Township over Buffalo Creek between Green Valley Road and Route 3006 (Newman Road). Route 3035/M10 (Craft Creek Road) in Morris Township over Crafts Creek between South Bridge Road and Winding Road. Route 4006/C10 (Francis Mine Road) in Hanover over Harmon Creek between Hanlin Station Road and Dinsmore Dam Road. Route 4035/A10 (Lynn Portal Road) over Georges Run in Canton and Chartiers townships between Henderson Road and Airport Road. The Contractor on this $4.5 Million project is Swank Construction Company, with the tentative completion date in October of 2018.<br>Update: <br>Route 3035 (Craft Creek Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>The contractor started Route 4035 A10 (Lynn Portal Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>The contractor started Route 4006 C10 (Francis Mine Road) in Hanover and Smith townships in Washington County on June 18 through August 21.&nbsp; A marked detour will be in place utilizing Route 4006 (Francis Mine Road), Dinsmore Avenue, Main Street, Route 18, Route 4004 (Steubenville Pike), and Route 4005 (Hanlin Station Road). <br><br>A section of Route 3009 G10 (North Sunset Beach Road) will be closed at the bridge over Buffalo Creek in Buffalo Township, Washington County. Work begins on Monday June 11 with a tentative completion date of August 22. The closure will be in place to replace the beams and bridge deck along with miscellaneous roadway work.&nbsp; A marked detour will be in place utilizing Route 3009 (North Sunset Beach Road), Route 221 (Green Valley Road), US 40, Route 231, Route 4024 (Claysville Taylorstown Ridge Road), Route 3006 (Newman Road) back to Route 3009. <br><br>A section of Route 221 03M (Buffalo Creek Road) – Completed and open.<br><br>Route 1059-D10 (Sugar Run Road): A section of roadway will be closed at the bridge over Mingo Creek in Nottingham Township, Washington County. Work began on July 30 with a tentative completion date of October 25. The closure will be in place to replace the beams and bridge deck along with miscellaneous roadway work. A marked detour will be in place utilizing 1059 (Sugar Run road), Meadowbrook Road, Route 1057 (Valley View road) back to Route 1059 (Sugar Run Road). <br><br>Route 3004-A10 (Dutch Fork Road): A section of roadway will be closed at the bridge over Dutch Fork of Buffalo Creek in Donegal Township, Washington County. Work began on August 1 with a tentative completion date of October 10. The closure will be in place to replace the beams and bridge deck along with miscellaneous roadway work. A marked detour will be in place utilizing Route 3001 (Lake Road), US 40, Route 231, back to Route 3004 (Dutch Fork Church Road).<br><br>Route 2011-P10 (Lone Pine Road): A section of roadway will be closed at the bridge over Little Ten Mile Creek in West Bethlehem and Amwell Townships, Washington County. Work begins on August 13 with a tentative completion date of October 17. The closure will be in place to replace the beams and bridge deck along with miscellaneous roadway work. A marked detour will be in place utilizing Route 2011 (Lone Pine Road), Route 2013 (Little Daniels Run Road), Route 2005 (Brush Run Road), back to Route 2011 Lone Pine Road. <br><br>Route 4012 over Robinson Run 2 –This is a bridge rehabilitation project for the bridge that carries Route 4012 (Nobelstown Road) over Robinson Run between Robinson and Mt. Pleasant townships. This contract is in pre-award status. The apparent low bidder on this $1.34 million job is Frank Gavlik &amp; Sons, Inc.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br>Update: Utility relocation work continues, Frank Gavlik &amp; Sons has begun excavation to place the rock embankments on the north side of the project.&nbsp; Expect trucks entering the roadway and single lane closures at times.&nbsp; Nobelstown Road will remain open throughout construction.<br><br>Interstate 70 – 21R – This is a pavement preservation project on Interstate 70 from the West Virginia line mile post 0 to 4.5. The project will include resurfacing and guiderail updates. Detours will be in place to pave West Alexander Interchange. The project will also include overlays on Route 3021 (McGuffey Road) and Route 3023 (Old Brick Road). The contractor on this $9.5 million project is The Lane Construction Corporation.<br>Update: The contractor is performing median mound reconstruction. Guiderail is being installed west bound, Contractor will be finishing paving main line westbound this week and start sawing and sealing next week. Starting Monday August 20th contractor will start paving cold recycle asphalt on SR3023 and 3021 work schedule roadway to be closed while paving.<br><br>Project #98344 Route 1002 Resurfacing – This is a resurfacing / restoration project for approximately 4.2 miles of Route 1002 from Route 19 (Donaldson’s Crossroads) to the Allegheny County Line.&nbsp; The contractor on the $2.1 million project is A.Folino Construction, Inc. It is scheduled for completion September 2018.<br>Update: The contractor A. Folino Construction, Inc.&nbsp; is currently doing drainage at the end of the project near the Allegheny County line. Also, the contractor began Milling Route 1002 starting from Route 19 and going East, past the Peters Twp. High School. There are signs posted for rough road ahead until the paving begins on Sunday night August 19th. There is a 10&#39; lane restriction on East McMurray Rd. (Route 1002). At times there may be one lane with flagger control due to trucks coming in and out of lane for loading of material.&nbsp; Motorists should expect delays and take precaution in the work zone as the speed limit is posted and reflects a lower speed while travelling within a construction/work zone.<br><br>Route 4019 over Little Racoon Creek – This is a bridge replacement project. The existing single lane bridge will be replaced with a two-lane precast concrete box culvert. The project is scheduled to start in late August. A full closure and posted detour will be in place. <br><br>Project #57201 Route 519 at Route 980 and I-79 – This project involves safety improvements to the intersections of Route 519 with Route 980, US 19, and ramps for Interstate 79 in North Strabane Township, Washington County. Also under consideration are safety improvements to the Route 519 corridor between the intersections such as delineation, guiderail upgrades, rumble strips, and turn lanes. It has a tentative let date in late September 2018.<br><br><br><br>Westmoreland County<br><br>Route 981 at Kennametal –&nbsp; SR 981 V10 –The scope of work will include full depth reconstruction and adding a center left turn lane from Arnold Palmer Drive to the Airport entrance; a new connector road between Route 2027 (Charles Houck Rd) and Route 981 including a roundabout at the Airport entrance. This roadway improvement will replace the existing Route 981/Route 2027 intersection. From the Airport entrance to T-881 (Airport Road), 3R (Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation) criteria will be the basis for the roadway improvements. In addition, left turn lanes will be installed at the Route 981/Bay Hill Drive intersection. Guide rail, pavement markings, signing and drainage will be updated within the project limits as well as other miscellaneous construction. This contactor on this $13.9 million project is Plum Contracting, Inc. <br>Update: The project is nearly complete. A few items of work remain as well as general project clean-up. Travel through the project area may be minimally impacted.&nbsp; PennDOT would like to thank you all for your patience while we constructed this project. <br><br>Route 981 over Loyalhanna Creek – SR 981 10F –This project is for the rehabilitation of the existing 3-span reinforced concrete arch bridge over Loyalhanna Creek in Latrobe including approach roadway, sidewalk, updating guide rail, pavement marking, lighting, and signing. The project begins at the Route 981/Unity Street intersection and ends 175 feet east of the Route 981 northbound / Water Street intersection and Route 981 southbound / Jefferson Street intersection. The contractor on this $4.8 million project is Mosites.<br>Update: Both northbound and southbound lanes are now open to traffic. The underside of the arches is now under construction, leaving Water Street closed, except to local traffic only. As this work is completed, cleanup, scour protection, and minor cosmetic touchups may be intermittently completed with little or no impact to traffic.<br><br>Route 31 Donegal Interchange – SR 31 X10 – This project is for realignment of Route 31 at the Donegal Turnpike Interchange with the addition of a signalized continuous “T” intersection and installation of traffic signals and turning lanes at the Route 31/Route 711 intersection.&nbsp; Relocation of School House Road at Mountain View Road and Kings Way at Route 711 to create plus intersections will occur with the addition of signals and turning lanes.&nbsp; Other widening for center turning lanes and increasing sight distance will occur on Route 31, as well as waterline relocation, drainage and signing upgrades, and milling and paving from approximately 450 feet west of Hellein School Road to 525 feet east of the Route 31/Route 2031, Route 711/Route 381 intersection.&nbsp; Plum Contracting, Inc. is the prime contractor on this $19.8 million project. The project is anticipated to be completed by December 3, 2018.<br>Update:&nbsp; Paving for current phase should finish up in the next few weeks and traffic will be switched onto the new pavement.&nbsp; Drainage work will continue at the SR 31 &amp; SR 381 Intersection.&nbsp; A 2-day closure of School House Lane is expected 8/23/18 and 8/24/18 to construct a tie-in to the new road.&nbsp; Various single lane closures will be ongoing for guiderail installations, painting lane shifts, and other miscellaneous work. <br><br>Route 31 Main Street, Mount Pleasant Boro and East Huntingdon Township – SR 31 03R – This project involves improvements to Route 31 (Main Street) in Mount Pleasant Boro beginning at the intersection with Bridgeport Street (Route 2001) in Mount Pleasant Boro and extending thru town to the intersection with Route 119 in East Huntingdon Township. The Contractor on this $7.5 million project is Michael Facchiano Contracting, Inc. The project includes: milling and paving the roadway; reconstructing the intersections in concrete; adding new drainage; traffic signals and other miscellaneous construction improvements. This project is scheduled to be completed in September 2018.<br><br>Route 906 from 4th Street to the Monessen Riverfront Business Park – Route 906 C10 –This project is for the reconstruction of this section of Route 906. The contractor on this $4,339,310 project is Morgan Excavating, L.P.<br>Update: Impact attenuators and barrier wall are set in 5 locations from 8th Street to Maronda Way (12th Street). Contractor is working on placing concrete in ADA Ramps and curb and gutter on Donner Ave. Also getting area prep for Asphalt paving operations. There is a 10” lane restriction on Donner Ave going south bound, on Route 906. Motorists continue to expect delays and drive with caution through the work zone.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br><br>Westmoreland County Bridge #14 – This local project is for work on the bridge that carries Story Road over Beaver Run in Salem Township. The contractor on this $831,568 project is Plum Contracting, Inc. <br>Update: The bridge is closed and a posted detour is implemented. The contractor is currently working on the foundation for the new structure. Due to unforeseen field conditions with the footer construction, the original project completion date will not be met.<br><br>Route 130 at Pleasant Valley Road – This project is for an intersection improvement for Route 130 at Pleasant Valley Road in Penn Township. It has a completion of mid-November 2018. The contractor on this $3.6 million project is Tedesco Construction Company.<br>Update: The contractor began night work on August 13 to do the road crossings for drainage. Daylight activities presently going on are the installation of the temporary traffic signals. The placement of the curbs will begin the week of August 20.<br><br>Route 3009/3015 – SR 3009 (Lenity School Road) and SR 3015 (Turkey Hollow Road) is closed to allow the replacement of a small structure with a precast box culvert. The road is currently closed and detoured. Work is expected to be complete by August 31st. <br>Update: the box culvert is set and the slab is poured. Barrier walls are being constructed.<br><br>Project #76084 Route 31 and the Brush Run Bridge – SR 31 09M -- This bridge preservation project is for the bridge that carries Route 31 over Brush Run in Mt. Pleasant Township. The bridge will get a new overlay and waterproofing and barrier. The contractor on this project is C. H. &amp; D. Enterprises, Inc. $400,256.70.&nbsp; <br>Update: Shoulder work is continuing to be performed on both sides of the bridge while traffic remains restricted to 11’ lanes. Work includes demolition of the old parapet walls and constructing of new ones. Also, work is still being done underneath the bridge to rehabilitate the existing abutments by placing reinforced concrete collars, crack injection sealing, and concrete repairs. <br><br>Project #74434 Route 3101 over Jacks Run – This project is for the bridge replace of Route 3101 (Keystone Avenue) over Jacks Run in South Greensburg Borough and Hempfield Township. The tentative completion of this project will be in August 2019.
