PennDOT’s Engineering District 4 is responsible for the state-maintained transportation network in this regionThis includes 3,932 total road miles and 2,090 total bridges.

We also work with local governments, elected officials, stakeholders and the public on keeping people and goods moving safely and efficiently in this region.

​Harrison Avenue Bridge to Close Tomorrow thru Thursday, 7 AM to 7 PM

Edella Road Bridge over I-81 Reopens

The Edella Road (Route 4019) bridge, which spans Route 81 in South Abington Township, Lackawanna County, reopened to traffic today. This bridge was replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project and allows PennDOT to remove it from the state's structurally deficient bridge list.  Read More
