Tomorrow thru Thursday from 7 AM to 7 PM Harrison Avenue Bridge will be closed in order for PP&L to relocate high tension power lines that are within the vicinity of the ongoing Harrison Avenue Bridge project.

The Edella Road (Route 4019) bridge, which spans Route 81 in South Abington Township, Lackawanna County, reopened to traffic today. This bridge was replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project and allows PennDOT to remove it from the state's structurally deficient bridge list.

The scheduled closing of the Canal Street (Route 267) bridge over Little Meshoppen Creek in Meshoppen Borough in Wyoming County has been postponed. It was previously scheduled to begin during the week of August 7. Construction is now expected to begin during the week of August 14 and be complete in late October. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 6 (Main Street) and Bridge Street. In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.

On Thursday, August 4th, the Edella Road Bridge over I-81 will reopen. Work on this bridge, which is located between Willowbrook Road and Fox Run Circle in South Abington Township, began near the end of April, and has reached completion in just over three months. This bridge is part of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.

On Tuesday, August 1ST, one lane will be closed on the Central Scranton Expressway while crews work on patching. The inbound lane will remain open from I-81 going into Scranton, but the outbound lane will be closed throughout the day. Crews will be working until 3PM.

Milling and paving work will begin on Business Route 6 starting Sunday July 30 at 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day.

On Monday, July 31st, one lane will be closed on the Central Scranton Expressway while crews work on patching. The inbound lane will remain open from I-81 going into Scranton, but the outbound lane will be closed throughout the day. Work starts at 6AM and will go until 3PM. Crews will start work at 6AM because most of the traffic at that time will be using the inbound lane as opposed to the outbound, which will be closed. The decision to start earlier was made to avoid having the outbound lane closed during the second rush hour

On Wednesday, July 26, a landscaping contractor for PennDOT will be working on the islands at the three roundabouts leading into the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Airport.

Tomorrow, July 26, crews will begin milling on SR 6 in Wyoming County as part of a $1,856,083.72 paving project that will span approximately 7 miles of road. Work will begin near Deer Park Lumber and go until Ace Robins.

SR 11 lane restriction from intersection of Stockpile Dr to the intersection of Hospital Rd in Hemlock Creek.

SR 267 is currently closed from the intersection of SR 706 to the intersection of SR 4015 in Rush Township. There is currently no detour in place.

Nighttime closures of I-81 are planned next week as construction begins on the Lenoxville Road bridge over I-81 in Lenox Township, Susquehanna County.

At 2 PM today, the Central Scranton Expressway will be closed for 10-15 minutes in both directions while a crew goes under the bridge in a bucket truck to test the paint on the new Harrison Avenue Bridge.

Construction for the Canal Street (Route 267) bridge, spanning Little Meshoppen Creek in Meshoppen Borough, Wyoming County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
