Dunmore, PA – Construction for the Route 858 (Pennsylvania Avenue) bridge, spanning Gaylord Creek in Rush Township, Susquehanna County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.

Beginning tomorrow, one lane will be closed on I-80 West between Exit 273 (White Haven/Freeland) and Exit 262 (Mountain Top/Hazleton). The lane will be closed around the clock for approximately 3 weeks. A concrete barrier will be installed, leaving one lane open for travel. Use caution when driving, as construction vehicles will be coming in and out between the hours of 6 AM to 5 PM

ith the probability of quite a bit of rain in the forecast for the next few weeks, PennDOT crews will be extending their work hours during the days that are not raining.

Work on Interstate 81 South will continue until approximately 5 pm today. Crews poured concrete earlier in the day and they are waiting for it to dry. So while it dries, crews will continue to work.
