The single lane condition on Interstate 81 North, near Exit 175 (Dupont/Pittston) is anticipated to be reopened by 7:45 AM. Crews are removing the split condition and shifting all lanes to the right.

PennDOT has lifted the speed limit restrictions that were in place on several roadways in the region.

PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways:

There is a single lane closure on Interstate 81 North between Exit 155 (Dorrance) and Exit 159 (Nuangola) due to a hole that has opened up on a bridge. Crews will not be able to begin work on the bridge until later this afternoon when the storm cleanup is complete. Significant delays are anticipated.

state 81 South is currently closed between Exit 145 (West Hazleton) and Exit 143 (Hazleton) due to a vehicle crash.

The community is invited to attend a regularly scheduled township meeting on Wednesday, February 15, to view plans and learn about the replacement of two bridges in New Milford Township, Susquehanna County. The Route 11 bridge over Salt Lick Creek and the Old Lackawanna Trail (SR 1018) bridge over Beaver Creek are both scheduled to be replaced this summer as part of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
