Washington County Maintenance Manager, Adam Smith, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of May 1, 2017. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis.

Uniontown, PA – Due to a road slide, a section of Route 4038 (Layton Road) was closed and detoured yesterday afternoon. The section of Layton Road that is closed is between Circle Street and Wilson Road. A marked detour is in place that uses Route 1002 (Banning Layton Road / Dawson Road), Route 1041 (Cunningham School Road), Route 819, Route 1010 (Front Street / Dickerson Run Road), Route 201, and Route 4017 (Cemetery Road).

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists of a permanent bridge closure on Route 2035 (Crossridge Road) between Kennedy Road and Route 481 in Fallowfield Township, Washington County. This bridge crosses over Interstate 70.

Uniontown, PA – As preliminary information is gathered for a future road project, PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that workers will be present at the Interstate 70 / Route 51 Interchange area during the next few weeks.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that almost 11 miles of surface improvements will be occurring on sections of routes in Fayette County throughout the summer. These daylight projects include milling, base repair and placing an asphalt overlay depending on weather conditions. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers when necessary. Updates are noted in RED.

Uniontown, PA – The community is invited to a public meeting regarding the replacement of one Washington County bridge included in the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. The meeting will be focused on important information including the construction schedule and traffic change that is planned to take effect while the bridge is being replaced.

The Fairview Hill Road (Route 3011) bridge, which spans Cats Run in German and Nicholson Townships, Fayette County, that’s been under construction as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, is complete and open to traffic. Replacement of the bridge allows PennDOT to remove it from Fayette County’s structurally deficient bridge list.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists of changes in the construction lane restriction on Route 119 (Morella Avenue), between Crossover Road and York Avenue in Connellsville Township, Fayette County.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that almost 11 miles of surface improvements will be occurring on sections of routes in Fayette County throughout the summer. These daylight projects include milling, base repair and placing an asphalt overlay depending on weather conditions. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers when necessary. Below is a tentative list of the roads that will have surface improvements on this contract. Updates will be sent out as timeframes become available.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists of nighttime lane restrictions on westbound Interstate 70 between Taylorstown and Claysville in Washington County. These nighttime restrictions will be in place Sunday nights through Thursday mornings between 8PM and 6AM. Traffic will resume to normal flow outside of these hours.

Construction for the Route 188 (Jefferson Road) bridge, spanning Grimes Run in Franklin Township, Greene County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Greene County’s structurally deficient bridge list.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 3081(Chaintown Road) will be closed between Route 3073 (Wesley Chapel Road) and Old Sunken Lane in East Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County.

PennDOT District 12 is announcing that a section of Route 88 (Front Street) in Millsboro will be reduced to a single lane with traffic controlled by temporary alternating signals starting on April 18 through June 16. This single lane restriction will be in place between Morton Street and the mouth of Ten Mile Creek so that Norfolk Southern Railroad can continue to construct a retaining wall on the southbound side of Route 88. This project started last construction season.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that there will be a ramp closure on Route 119 OFF ramp at the Ruffsdale Exit between Route 819 to Route 3095 (Technology Drive) in East Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County. Work begins on Thursday April 13 with a tentative completion date of Friday May 26.
