Fort Pitt Bridge Inspections this Weekend in Allegheny County


Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing inspection activities on the Fort Pitt Bridge in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 weather permitting.

Crews from SAI Consulting Engineers, Inc. will be inspecting the ramp from the upper deck of the Fort Pitt Bridge to northbound I-279 and Fort Duquesne Boulevard (Exit 70B & 70C). Single lane restrictions will occur from 6 a.m. to noon each day according to the following schedule: 

Saturday, July 13

  • Left lane closure on the ramp from the Fort Pitt Bridge to northbound I-279 (Exit 70C)

  • Right lane closure on Fort Pitt Boulevard under the Fort Pitt Bridge

Sunday, July 14

  • Right lane closure on Fort Pitt Bridge (upper deck) toward the Boulevard of the Allies/Liberty Avenue/PPG Arena (Exit 70A) exit
