PennDOT Engineering District 6 is responsible for the state-maintained transportation network in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. This includes 3,553 total road miles and 2,760 total bridges.
We work closely with local governments, elected officials, stakeholders and the public to keep people and goods moving safely and efficiently in this region.
District 6 is comprised of four units -- Design, Construction, Maintenance and Operations. These units operate together, as shown in the graphic below, to build and maintain state highways and bridges, manage and alleviate congestion and enhance safety in the most heavily traveled region in the state.
