King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that resurfacing is scheduled on the eastbound 422 ramp to Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin Township, as part of a project to repair and resurface 37 miles of state highways in Chester County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the eastbound 422 ramp to Swedesford Road will be closed between the Old Eagle School Road overpass and Swedesford Road for milling and paving. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use the southbound U.S. 202 Interchange, the northbound Route 252 (Valley Forge Road) Interchange, Valley Forge Road, Swedesford Road, and West Valley Road.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.
Under the improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
Allan Myers, LP, of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $14.7 million resurfacing project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
