Weekday Pipe Replacement Scheduled on State Highways in Chester, Montgomery Counties

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that pipe replacements are scheduled on state highways in Chester and Montgomery counties on Monday, June 5, through Friday, June 16, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, as part of a project to address storm water management on over 90 state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

The work locations are:

Chester County

  • Business U.S. 322 (Wilmington Pike) between Yorktown Avenue and Stadium Road in West Chester Borough.

Montgomery County

  • Cheltenham Avenue between Paper Mill Road and Cromwell Road in Springfield Township;
  • Wynnewood Road between Athens Avenue and Argyle Road in Lower Merion Township;
  • Washington Lane between Route 309 (Cheltenham Avenue) and Stenton Avenue in Cheltenham Township;
  • Allentown Road between Reinert Road and Thorndale Drive in Towamencin Township;
  • Route 663 (Charlotte Street) between Swamp Pike and Swamp Picnic Road in New Hanover Township;
  • Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) between Anderson Road and Forge Springs Way in Upper Merion Township; and
  • Church Road between South Gulph Ridge Drive and Brandenburg Way in Upper Merion Township.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays may occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

Highway Materials, Inc of Flourtown, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this $14.9 million project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
