Emergency Pipe Replacement Scheduled on Route 15 SB, Southeast of Gettysburg in Adams County

Harrisburg, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a contractor is scheduled to start an emergency pipe replacement project on Route 15 southbound, southeast of Gettysburg in Adams County.

The pipe, which is located just south of Sachs Road in Cumberland Township and carries an unnamed tributary of Rock Creek, is deteriorated and needs to be replaced.

Weather permitting, work will begin at approximately 7 PM Sunday, January 26, and be completed by 7 AM Friday, January 31.

Route 15 southbound will be closed between Baltimore Pike (Route 97) and Taneytown Road (Route 134) during this project. A detour will be in effect using Baltimore Pike (Route 97) to Hoffman Home Road (Route 2029), to Orphanage Road (Route 2010) to Barlow-Two Taverns Road (Route 2001), to Taneytown Road (Route 134), to Route 15 southbound. Route 15 northbound will remain open.

JD Eckman is the prime contractor on this $373,000 emergency project.
