King of Prussia, PA – The left lane is scheduled to close on northbound and southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Fox Street and 17th Street in Philadelphia on Wednesday, September 18, and Thursday, September 19, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for construction activities under a project to rehabilitate the half-mile-long Wayne Junction Viaduct which carries the expressway over SEPTA tracks, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) through the work areas because slowdowns and backups will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, N.J. is the general contractor on the $88,433,230 project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2022. For more information, visit us1wav.com.
