PennDOT’s Westmoreland County Maintenance Update

Westmoreland County Maintenance Manager, Thomas Boyle, announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 13, 2018. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

Shoulder repairs will take place on SR 0711 (Ligonier Street) in Fairfield/Clair Township) and SR 0711 (Stahlstown-Ligonier Road) in Donegal Township.

Pipe replacement will take place on SR 0271 (Menoher Highway) in Fairfield Township.

Crack or joint sealing will take place on the following 0711 (Main Street/Stahlstown/Ligonier Road) in Donegal Borough and Cook and Ligonier Township.

Shoulder back-up will take place on SR 0381 (Weavertown Road) in Donegal Township and SR 2043 (Darlington-Rector Road) in Ligonier Township.

Culvert repairs will take place on SR 2027 (Charles Houck) in Unity Township.

Shoulder cutting will take place on SR 1026 (Donohoe Road) in Hempfield. 

Bridge cleaning will take place on SR 0993 (Irwin/Trafford Road) in Penn Township.

Paving will take place on SR 3049 (Clay Pike) in North Huntingdon. 

Pothole patching will take place on the following:

SR 2010 (Stone Church)      Hempfield Township
SR 3016        Madison
SR 4059       (Crestview) Washington Township
SR 4061       (Washington Road) Washington Twp.

Pipe installation/drainage will take place on the following:

SR 0031        Ruffs Dale
SR 0819        Scottsdale
SR 1055        (Hannastown Road) in Salem
SR 4063       (Gilmar Road) Washington Township
SR 0981       (Old Derry Road) Derry Township

Seal coating will take place on the following:

SR 0381       (Weavertown Road) in Cook Township
SR 2043       (Darlington/Rector) in Ligonier Township
SR 2018       (Sleasman Road) in Cook Township

 

PENNDOT has a 24-hour toll free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern.  This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways.  The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
