Uniontown (July 19,2017) – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 12-0 and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), in cooperation with Westmoreland County, will conduct a Public Open House to discuss the advancement of the Laurel Valley Transportation Improvement Project (LVTIP) in Unity and Mount Pleasant Townships, Westmoreland County. A Draft Preferred Improvement Concept has been developed to enhance safety, mobility and access consistent with land use and projected future growth in the region. The Draft Preferred Improvement Concept has been divided into three sections for advancement.
The Public Open House is scheduled as part of the conclusion of the Feasibility Study phase of the LVTIP and provides the community an opportunity to learn more about and give feedback on the segmentation of the Draft Preferred Improvement Concept and the initial details about Section 1: Route 819 to Norvelt moving into Preliminary Engineering.
