Traffic Pattern Changes Route 31 Donegal Project

Traffic Pattern Changes Route 31 Donegal Project
Donegal Township, Westmoreland County

Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that there will be traffic pattern changes on the Route 31 project in Donegal, Westmoreland County.

On Monday, August 12 traffic will be shifted onto the new alignment of Route 31, utilizing the new Continuous “T” Intersection controlled by a new traffic signal. Eastbound traffic will utilize a continuous through lane bypassing the intersection.  Additionally, the Turnpike Interchange lanes will be shifted to begin construction of the final tie-in of the new intersection to the existing interchange. (This construction will tentatively occur through September.)

A Continuous “T” Intersection is an intersection that is controlled by a traffic signal but allows one direction of traffic on the major road to have continuous traffic flow.

Final paving from approximately Holiday Inn to Sarnelli’s is anticipated in late August.
