Overhead Sign Inspections Next Week in Allegheny County


Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing overhead sign inspection activities in various locations in Allegheny County, will occur next week, Monday through Friday, December 9-13 weather permitting.

Lane restrictions will occur 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in the following locations: 

Monday, December 9

  • Northbound I-79 between the Route 910/Wexford (Exit 73) and Route 19/Cranberry (Exit 76) interchanges

  • Westbound I-376 Parkway West ramp to Carnegie (Exit 65)

Tuesday, December 10

  • Northbound I-79 between the Bridgeville (Exit 54) and Carnegie (Exit 57) interchanges

Wednesday, December 11

  • Route 65 in both directions between the North Shore and Marshall Avenue exits

  • Route 837 West Carson Street ramp to the Fort Pitt Bridge

Thursday, December 12

  • Route 28 in both directions between the Millvale (Exit 3) and Etna (Exit 4) interchanges

  • Route 3069 Crosstown Boulevard at Forbes Avenue

Friday, December 13

  • Southbound Route 51 at PA Turnpike 43

  • Route 2101 Forward Avenue at the I-376 Parkway East interchange

  • Northbound Route 51 at the I-376 Parkway West interchange

Crews from Mackin Engineering Company and the Sofis Rigging Company will conduct the inspections.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 950 traffic cameras.
