Southbound Route 28 Ramp to Veterans Bridge Overnight Closure Tonight in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing concrete deck repairs on the ramp from southbound Route 28 to the I-579 Veterans Bridge in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur tonight, Friday night, December 6 weather permitting.

A full closure of the ramp that carries traffic from southbound Route 28 to the Veterans Bridge (southbound I-579) will occur from 8 p.m. tonight to 8 a.m. Saturday morning. PennDOT crews will conduct concrete deck repairs. All traffic will be detoured.

Southbound Route 28 to Boulevard of the Allies

  • From southbound Route 28, take the ramp to Fort Pitt Bridge/Airport

  • From southbound I-279, cross the Fort Duquesne Bridge

  • Take the left-hand ramp to Downtown/to 376 East toward Monroeville

  • Stay right to 376 East toward Monroeville

  • For the Boulevard of the Allies, take the Forbes Avenue/Oakland (Exit 72A) off-ramp

  • From Forbes Avenue, turn right onto Craft Avenue

  • Follow Craft Avenue to the Boulevard of the Allies

  • End detour

Southbound Route 28 to Eastbound I-376

  • From southbound Route 28, take the ramp to Fort Pitt Bridge/Airport

  • From southbound I-279, cross the Fort Duquesne Bridge

  • Take the left-hand ramp to Downtown/to 376 East toward Monroeville

  • Stay right to 376 East toward Monroeville

  • Continue straight on eastbound I-376

  • End detour

Southbound Route 28 to the Liberty Bridge

  • From southbound Route 28, take the ramp to Fort Pitt Bridge/Airport

  • From southbound I-279, cross the Fort Duquesne Bridge

  • Take the left-hand ramp to Downtown/to 376 East toward Monroeville

  • Stay left toward Downtown Pittsburgh

  • Take the ramp to Grant Street

  • From Grant Street, turn right onto the Boulevard of the Allies

  • Take the ramp to Route 19/51 toward the Liberty Bridge

  • End detour
