Route 4022 Reis Run Road Slide Remediation Work Begins Thursday in Ross Township


Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing that slide remediation work on a portion of Reis Run Road (Route 4022) in Ross Township, Allegheny County, will begin on Thursday, October 10 weather permitting.

Crews will begin equipment mobilization and site preparatory work on Thursday and Friday, October 10-11.  Slide repair work is anticipated to begin on Monday, October 14 once final utility coordination occurs. The roadway will remain closed to traffic at the slide location during the work. Through traffic will continue to be detoured.

  • Follow Reis Run Road to Rochester Road

  • Take Rochester Road northbound back to Reis Run Road

  • End detour

West of the slide

  • Same detour in the opposite direction

The roadway has been closed to traffic since May 31 due to a slide from private property. The Department has worked with the property owner and other entities in an effort to gain access to the property for repairs. Legal right of entry was granted to the Department on Wednesday, October 9.

Crews from Allison Park Contractors will conduct the slide remediation and roadway repair work. The work is anticipated to conclude in late November.
