PennDOT District 11 is announcing tunnel washing operations in the Fort Pitt
Tunnel in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will begin Sunday night,
Single-lane restrictions will occur in the Fort Pitt Tunnel
from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. according to the following schedule:
through Tuesday nights, July 14-16 – Inbound (eastbound)
and Thursday nights, July 17-18 – Outbound (westbound)
Crews will conduct washing activities on the tunnel walls,
barriers, and cross-passages.
Work will not begin in the outbound tunnel until one hour
after the end of any Pirate game.
