Southbound I-279 Overnight Sign Improvement Work Continues Monday in Pittsburgh


Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing overnight sign improvement work on southbound I-279 (Parkway North) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will continue Monday night, February 11 weather permitting.

Overnight sign improvement work will occur from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights through Friday night, February 22 in the following locations:

  • Traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less as needed on southbound I-279 between the East Street (Exit 4) off-ramp and the East Ohio Street underpass

  • Single-lane restriction on southbound I-279 between the East Ohio Street underpass and the North Shore (Exit 1B) off-ramp

Crews from the Trumbull Corporation will conduct the work.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 860 traffic cameras.
