Beginning at 9 AM on November 20, 2019, motorists traveling on State Route (SR) 422 between Rupp Church Road and SR 2014 (Green Tree/Rinker Hollow Road) will be diverted onto the recently-built temporary SR 422 roadway until mid-summer of 2020. Additionally, during this time, motorists will not have access to SR 422 from SR 2012 (Silvis Hollow Road).
Crews from Glenn O. Hawbaker will begin the next phase of work on the project to increase sight distances, and safety at this intersection. A map detailing these traffic changes is available online.
The following detour for Silvis Hollow Road, starting November 20 at 9 AM, is as follows:
Traffic traveling on Silvis Hollow Road should travel west to intersection of SR 2025/Garretts Run Road and turn right. Follow Garretts Run Road to SR 2011/Gault Hill Road and turn right. Follow SR 2011/Gault Hill Road north to SR 1422 West (US 422 Business Route) and turn right. Take SR 1422 West to the Pittsburgh/New Bethlehem exit to the SR 422 East exit and follow SR 422 East to SR 2012/Silvis Hollow Road.
Traffic traveling on SR 422 Westbound will travel through the detour area to SR 422 Business, Exit B, to Kittanning. After taking Exit B, onto SR 1422 Eastbound, turn left onto SR 2011/Gault Hill Road. Follow SR 2011 to SR 2025/Garrets Run Road to SR 2012/Silvis Hollow Road.
