Section of Freedom Road in Cranberry Township to Close Weekend of November 15, 2019

Butler, PA–State Route (SR) 3020 (Freedom Road) will close from Executive Drive to Commonwealth Drive starting on November 15, 2019 at 10 PM and is expected to re-open on November 18, 2019 at 6 AM, weather permitting.

During this time, Beech Construction, Inc. of Carnegie, PA will replace two cross-pipes under Freedom Road, install new drainage systems, traffic and roadway signals and improve lighting. This work is part of a larger project that will replace the existing structure that carries SR 3020 over Interstate 76 with a wider two-span, six-lane steel structure during the 2020 construction season.

The detour will have motorists turn onto Executive Drive, turn right onto Cranberry Square Drive then go southbound onto SR 19 (Perry Highway) to Thornhill Road to Commonwealth Drive, back onto SR 3020. There are two available detour maps available online (Map 1 and Map 2).

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 950 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website. Follow local PennDOT information on Twitter at
