Preparations for the Freedom Road Turnpike Bridge Project, which will replace the existing structure carrying State Route (SR) 3020 over I-76 (PA Turnpike), will begin on February 11, 2019.
There are no anticipated traffic delays or detours at this time. Preparations will include tree trimming, utility work, and survey layout. Short-term utility traffic control is expected to start this spring for utility relocations.
This $13,127,925 project by Beech Construction, Inc., Carnegie, PA is expected to be completed in December 2020.
Motorists should slow down and use caution in work zones, and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices. Expect congestion and delays in the project area. Fines are doubled for violations in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the workers.
