PennDOT Announces Public Plans Display an Improvement Project on Columbia Avenue in Greenville, Mercer County


​The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to view a display of plans for a roadway improvement project on Columbia Avenue (Route 4011) in Greenville Borough, Mercer County.

The project involves resurfacing 0.80 miles of Columbia Avenue from Route 58 (South Mercer Street) to Route 358 (South Main Street) in Greenville Borough. The project also includes replacement of manholes, pavement markings, signing and curb ramp updates.

Construction is expected to occur in 2020.

During a portion of the work, a detour will be in place using Route 58 and Route 358. During other times, lane restrictions will be in place and traffic will be controlled by flaggers.

Plans for the project will be displayed:

Date:              January 20, 2020 to January 31, 2020
Time:             8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Location:      Greenville Borough Building
                        125 Main St.
                        Greenville, PA 16125

The information will also available online at by clicking on the Public Meetings link under the Resources heading and then choosing the box labeled Mercer County – Columbia Ave Improvements.
The plans display is also an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the project’s potential effect upon Cultural Resources pursuant to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation’s 36 CFR Part 800 regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

The display is being held in a facility that complies with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and it is accessible to individuals who have disabilities.
