PennDOT to Display Plans for Route 173 Project in the Borough of Grove City, Mercer County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to view a display of plans for a roadway improvement project along Route 173 (Liberty Street) in the Borough of Grove City, Mercer County.

The project will focus on widening the roadway from the intersection with Kocher Drive to just south of the intersection with Route 58 (Main Street). On average, about 3,100 vehicles a day use the roadway.

Plans for the project will be on display: 

Dates:            December 4, 2019 to December 17, 2019
Time:             8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Location:      Grove City Municipal Building
          123 West Main Street
          Grove City, PA  16127

Work include widening the street approximately 2.5 feet on each side, pavement restoration, curb, sidewalk, and ADA curb ramp improvements, and drainage and signing upgrades. Construction is expected to take place in the summer of 2021.

Plans cann for lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.

The plans display is also an opportunity for the public to review and comment on the project’s potential effect upon Cultural Resources pursuant to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation’s 36 CFR Part 800 regulations implementing Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

The display is being held in a facility that complies with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and it is accessible to individuals who have disabilities.
