Project Overview

This project involves the rehabilitation of the Allegheny Street Bridge over the Beaverdam Branch of the Juniata River, and the re-alignment of the Newry Street, Allegheny Street and US 22 Intersection.

As part of the intersection alignment, a Norfolk Southern track switch will be relocated to improve intersection efficiency during train traffic crossing Newry Street.

New traffic signals will be installed at three intersections and will be interconnected to operate together. The three intersections are Newry Street, Allegheny Street and US 22; Allegheny Street and N. Juniata Street; and N. Juniata Street and US 22.

Also included is a modification at the intersection of Front Street and Mulberry Street with US 22, which will permanently close off access to US 22 from these two streets.
