PennDOT contractors are replacing three bridges in poor condition on Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) that span the Unami Creek, Ridge Valley Creek and the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek in Upper Salford and Marlborough townships, Montgomery County.
The Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) bridges over Unami Creek and Ridge Valley Creek were reopened on December 24, 2019 after being closed and detoured since late May 2019. A single lane pattern remains in effect through May 2020 on Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) between Long Mill Road and Shady Lane for construction of the third bridge over the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek. The bridges over Unami Creek and Ridge Valley Creek will be replaced simultaneously to minimize impact to traffic. The bridge over the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek will remain open during construction and will be replaced in stages using half-width construction.
