PennDOT contractors are replacing three bridges in poor condition on Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) that span the Unami Creek, Ridge Valley Creek and the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek in Upper Salford and Marlborough townships, Montgomery County.
A closure and detour will be in effect on a portion of Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) and a stretch of Long Mill Road beginning Tuesday, May 28, through late fall 2019 for replacement of the bridges over the Unami Creek and Ridge Valley Creek. Additionally, another section of Route 63 (Sumneytown Pike) will be reduced to a single lane with a temporary traffic signal through spring 2020 for the replacement of the bridge over the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek. Read the latest press release for detour info.
The bridges over Unami Creek and Ridge Valley Creek will be replaced simultaneously to minimize impact to traffic. The bridge over the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek will remain open during construction and will be replaced in stages using half-width construction.
