PennDOT contractors are replacing two bridges that carry Ardmore Avenue over Cobbs Creek and SEPTA's Norristown High-Speed Line in Haverford Township, Delaware County.
Construction operations began in March 2019. After required aerial utility relocation work was completed, Ardmore Avenue was closed between Haverford Road and Golf House Road on Monday, July 15, for demolition of the old structures and construction of the new bridges. The closure will be in effect through June 2020. Read more.
During the closure, Ardmore Avenue motorists will be detoured over Darby Road, College Avenue and Haverford Road. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area because backups and delays will occur.
