Project Overview

The project will rehabilitate the structurally deficient 27-span concrete arch bridge. Work includes concrete repair, superstructure replacement, ramp work at the interchange of Penn Street and US 422/West Shore Bypass, ornamental lighting, traffic signal work, new signs, new pavement markings and other miscellaneous construction.

One of the two eastbound lanes is restricted (heading into the City of Reading) on the Penn Street Bridge.

Motorists are advised to use caution and expect delays traveling through the area.

For the final three-to-six months of the project there will be a single lane both eastbound and westbound on the Penn Street Bridge. Updates will be provided whenever these traffic restrictions are scheduled.
