Improvements to PA 61 in Leesport and Shoemakersville boroughs and Ontelaunee and Perry townships in Berks County.
The project includes milling, concrete patching, base repairs, replacing drainage inlets and pipes, paving, replacing concrete islands and curbs, upgrading traffic signals, minor bridge repair work, updating guide rail, installing Americans with Disabilities Act compliant curb ramps, replacing sidewalks, updating signs, and installing new pavement markings.
During construction, motorists may experience daytime and nighttime lane restrictions on PA 61 north or south between Buttonwood Street in Leesport and Zions Church Road in Perry Township. There will be no restrictions during major holidays.
Motorists are advised to expect delays and use caution traveling through the area. This section of PA 61 has an average daily traffic volume of 26,897 vehicles.
