Motorists are advised that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and Bridging Pennsylvania Developers I (BPD-I) will begin pre-construction activities for the I-80 Nescopeck Creek Bridges Project in preparation for the start of demolition and construction of the two bridges carrying eastbound and westbound Interstate 80 over Nescopeck Creek in Black Creek Township, Luzerne County.

Route 170 between Burns Road and Townhill Road in Clinton Township, Wayne County is closed for a bridge replacement project. A local detour is in place. The estimated date of reopening is the summer of 2025.

The on and off-ramps at Exit 6 (Luzerne) for Route 309 northbound and southbound closed on Sunday afternoon have been reopened.

There will be a lane restriction on Interstate 81 southbound beginning at mile marker 179 to 181 (Moosic) to make bridge deck repairs. Work will take place on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 8:45 AM to 3:00 PM.

There will be lane restrictions on Interstate 81 northbound and southbound from Exit 178 (Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport Avoca) to Exit 180 (Moosic) in Luzerne County for a rolling roadblock. Work will begin tomorrow Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

Today, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 4, which covers Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming counties, highlighted 102 projects anticipated to start during the 2024 construction season, and 99 projects that will continue. The Department anticipates investing more than $276 million this year in the region's infrastructure. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to a virtual online plans display for the bridge replacement carrying Route 1015 (Field Brook Road) over Field Brook in Nicholson Township, Wyoming County.

PennDOT will close the Parker Street Bridge beginning on March 25, 2024, to begin the bridge reconstruction project. A pedestrian bridge will be accessible for the duration of construction. The bridge is anticipated to reopen in the winter of 2024/2025.
