Motorists traveling through Burnside Township in Clearfield County will be reminded to obey the posted speed limit. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today the placement of a radar-controlled speed display sign on Route 3006 (Westover Road) between Route 3001 (Ridge Road) and Cherry Lane. The sign will aid in curbing speeding, a common type of aggressive driving.

Prospective employees are invited to attend and apply at one of two job fairs that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 2 is hosting in McKean and Elk counties. During the job fairs, applicants can learn about wintertime job opportunities that PennDOT offers. PennDOT staff will be on hand to help with on-line applications and attendees are encouraged to bring their resume.

The sign will aid in curbing speeding, a common type of aggressive driving.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a new box culvert on Route 66 (James City Hill Road) in Wetmore Township has been opened to traffic. The box culvert replaces the previous bridge—eliminating it from the list of McKean County bridges in “poor” condition. The box culvert spans Wind Run about two miles south of Kane and carries an average of almost 1,700 vehicles daily.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists of detours for its Route 333 improvement project in Juniata County. The project will help prolong the useful life of the roadway.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today issued an update on its cable median barrier installation project along more than 13 miles of roadway in Centre, Clinton, Mifflin, and Juniata counties. The project will enhance safety for motorists and reduce the potential for head-on collisions on high-volume traffic routes.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is issuing an August middle-of-the-month update for its North Atherton Street (Route 3014) project in State College. Work this year will carry through November and will finish up in spring of 2020. Phased work zones stretch from Aaron Drive to Park Avenue. Work includes relocation of numerous utility lines, relocation of sewer and water lines, drainage improvements, curbing, sidewalks, ADA ramps, traffic signal upgrades, new concrete median, and paving.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is continuing work to replace two bridges on Interstate 80 in Clearfield County. The bridges span Shiloh Road (Route 1012), just east of mile marker 125 in Bradford Township. The bridges are being replaced in a half-width configuration.

The sign will aid in curbing speeding, a common type of aggressive driving.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that preliminary geotechnical work on Route 153 (North/South Front Street) in Clearfield Borough is slated to begin Monday, August 26. The contractor will be drilling core borings to gather data for an upcoming betterment project that will improve drainage and reconstruct the deteriorating roadway.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that work to replace a bridge on Route 66 (James City Hill Road) in Wetmore Township will continue the week of August 12. Replacing the bridge will improve its condition from “poor” to “good”. The bridge spans Wind Run about two miles south of Kane and carries an average of almost 1,700 vehicles daily. The existing bridge is being replaced with a prestressed concrete box culvert.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has opened a new bridge in Ceres Township, McKean County. The bridge spans Bell Run on Bell Run Road (Route 1009) near Winger Lane. Replacing the old bridge removes it from McKean County’s list of bridges in poor condition. An average of 260 vehicles moves through this area each day.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that bridge repair work will be extended for a Route 3004 (Sylvis Road) bridge in Burnside Township. PennDOT expects to finish work on August 16 but needs to extend the closure time frame through Friday, August 30 to allow proper curing of the concrete. The bridge is currently closed, and an official detour remains in place.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that slide repair work on a section of Route 53 (Kylertown/Drifting Highway) is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 12. This work zone is located about 2 ½ miles north of the village of Drifiting, near the Clearfield/Centre County line.
