Jake Corman, and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation officials were joined by local officials and stakeholders today to announce that efforts to connect the area of Seven Mountains to the greater State College area are restarting after being shelved for more than 15 years.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists that Route 1004 (Bendigo Road) in Jones Township, Elk County will be closed by nightfall today. The closure runs from the Domtar Mill in Johnsonburg to the intersection with Route 1001 (Glen Hazel Road). The closure was made necessary due to a slide issue along the roadway.

Construction of a McKean County bridge replacement has been postponed until late spring 2019. The bridge spans Havens Run on Route 46 (Emporium Road) about three miles southeast of the village of Betula in Norwich Township.

Preliminary work on a bridge replacement in St Marys is scheduled to start next week, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). The bridge spans Silver Run on Route 255, about 1-mile northwest of St Marys. Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Elk County’s list of bridges in poor condition.
