South Arch Street Bridge Replacement Project

SouthArch_Map.PNG

Project Overview

This project involves the complete replacement of the existing single-span concrete-encased steel I-beam bridge that carries South Arch Street (S.R. 1037) over Trump Run, located in the City of Connellsville, Fayette County. The existing bridge is approximately 0.7 miles south of the intersection of West Crawford Ave. (S.R. 0117), located in the business district of Connellsville.

The proposed replacement structure consists of a precast concrete box culvert. Installation of the proposed culvert will require closure of the roadway and a detour for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.  Roadway improvements include guide rail replacement, ADA compliant sidewalks/curb ramps within reconstruction limits and several new inlets/pipes to increase roadway drainage capacity.

Construction is scheduled for the summer of 2022.
