Prospective employees are invited to attend and apply at the job fair that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is hosting to learn about job opportunities that the department offers in Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that they will encounter a closure and detour on a section of Manifold Road in South Strabane Township between Berry Road and Locust Avenue starting on October 25 at 6:30 AM through December 6 at 3:00 PM so that a slide can be repaired. A marked detour will use Route 19, Interstate 70, and Locust Avenue.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is currently developing plans for the replacement of the bridge carrying Route 1059 over Mingo Creek in Nottingham Township and will host a Public Plans Display from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on October 16, 2019, at the Nottingham Township Municipal Building located at 909 Sugar Run Road, Eighty Four, PA 15330. Interested residents can attend at this time.

A utility contractor will pull cable across Interstate 79 Northbound on October 17, 2019 starting at 8:00 PM until 6:00 AM on October 18. In order to do this, there will be a single lane closure on Interstate 79 between Meadowlands and the Houston Exit during this time.

Acting Greene County Maintenance Manager, Dale Baird, today announced the following tentative work plan for the week of October 14, 2019. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

PennDOT District 12 would like to update motorists on the approximately 31 miles state roadways that will be resurfaced in Westmoreland County this construction season. Because each roadway is different, these daylight projects may include milling, base repair and placing an asphalt overlay. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers when necessary and the project depends on the weather conditions. Tentative locations are approximate. Start dates will be updated as they get closer.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will conduct a plan display to inform the public of the proposed project for replacement of two structures carrying Moyer Road (T-907) over Mounts Creek. Work will consist of replacing each structure with a separate single-span prestressed concrete box beam on integral abutments, full depth approach roadway work on the approaches of both bridges, new signing and pavement markings, upgraded guide rail, mill and overlay between the two bridges and other miscellaneous construction. The project will begin at approximately the intersection of Coalbrook Road and Moyer Road to the intersection of Greenhouse Road and Moyer Road.

The PA 51 southbound off ramp to PA 201 (Rostraver Road) will close overnight from 7 PM on Thursday, October 10 to 6 AM on Friday, October 11, for paving work associated with the new bridge carrying Peasant Village Lane (State Route 8011) over Pollock Run in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 12, will host a Public Display of Plans to discuss the Route 906 Section B10 Reconstruction Project. The Public Display of Plans will provide an overview on the project and plans development and collect public input.

PennDOT District 12 would like to update motorists on the Route 4038 (Layton Bridge and Tunnel) project. The bridge, tunnel, and approach roadways will be milled and repaved next week. This requires the closing of the Tunnel and Bridge. The closure is scheduled to start at 5 AM Monday, September 30th and end at 6 AM Tuesday, October 1.
