The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) want to alert motorists of single-lane closures affecting travel on State Route 31 in Donegal Township, Westmoreland County beginning next week. Workers will be installing entry signs to the PA Turnpike along the shoulder of State Route 31 near Donegal Interchange beginning Aug. 20. For the safety of those workers, single-lane closures will be utilized between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for approximately one week or until this work is completed.

Fayette County Maintenance Manager, Jason L. Spangler, today announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 20, 2018. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights. Bridge Replacement is scheduled on State Route 4038 (Quaker Church Road). Slide Repair is scheduled on State Route 1033 (Narrows Road). Shoulder Repair is scheduled on State Route 819 (Dawson/Scottdale Road), State Route 1051 (Breakneck Road), and State Route 40 (National Pike). Underdrain is scheduled on State Route 3012. Shoulder Backup is scheduled on State Route 4017 (Cemetery Road). Pipe Replacement is scheduled on State Route 1025 (Rice School Road). Mowing is scheduled on State Route 3008 (Willow Grove Road). Signs will be updated, downed signs will be reset on various routes, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes countywide.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists the superstructure that carries Route 982 over Ninemile Run in Unity Township will be open to traffic at 5PM tonight. This structure is between American Legion Road on the west end and Schultz Lane on the east end and was single lane restricted for replacement work.

The Peasant Village Lane (Route 8011) bridge, which spans Pollock Run in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, that’s been under construction as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, is complete and open to traffic.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists of the closure of Route 1033(Narrows Road), between Route 1031 (Broadford Road) and Route 1035 (Bell View Road) in Upper Tyrone Township, Fayette County. The closure will begin today at 1 PM and will remain in place for approximately four weeks.

The Peasant Village Lane (Route 8011) bridge, which spans Pollock Run in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County, that’s been under construction as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, is complete and open to traffic.

PennDOT District 12 advises motorists that a section of Route 1025 (Rice School Road) in Bullskin Township, Fayette County will be closed and detoured between August 13 and August 20 so that a pipe can be replaced. The closure will occur between Prittstown Road and Country Club Road. A marked detour will use Prittstown Road, and Mt. Pleasant Road.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 136 (East Main Street) will be closed at the Railroad Crossing between Water Street and N. 1st Street in West Newton, Westmoreland County. Work begins on August 13 and will continue until August 17, 2018. The closure will be in place to allow railroad crews to perform railroad crossing maintenance. A posted detour will be in place using Route 136, Route 31, Interstate 70, Route 51, and Route 201.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 2010 (Stone Church Road) will be closed at the Railroad Crossing between South 4th Street and Thermo Village Road in New Stanton Borough, Westmoreland County. Work begins on August 13 and will continue until August 16, 2018. The closure will be in place to allow railroad crews to perform railroad crossing maintenance. A posted detour will be in place using Route 119, Trolley Line Avenue, Depot Street, Armburst Road and Route 819.

PennDOT District 12 advises motorists that starting August 21 and continuing through November 22, crews will be doing core boring drilling work along Interstate 70, Route 51 and around the Interstate 70 Exit 46 interchange in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County. The limits of work on Interstate 70 will be from the Smithton Bridge spanning the Youghiogheny River to a point about one mile west of the I-70/Route 51 interchange. The limits of work on Route 51 will be from south of the Ridge Road intersection to north of the Concord Lane intersection including the interchange and Finley Road. This work will require traffic to be restricted down to one lane in each direction on both Interstate 70 and Route 51 at various times and locations in this area between 8 PM and 6 AM.

Construction for the Route 88 (McKean Avenue) bridge, spanning Maple Creek in Speers and Charleroi boroughs, Washington County, has been postponed. It was previously scheduled to begin during the week of August 13. Construction is now expected to begin during the week of August 20 and be complete in mid-October. During construction, drivers will be directed to follow a car detour along First Street (Route 2016), Twilight Hollow Road (Route 2027) and Interstate 70.

PennDOT District 12 advises motorists that a section of Candor Road in Bulger, Washington County will be closed and detoured between August 23 and October 26 so that a box culvert can be replaced. The closure will occur between Bulger Arch Road and Midway Candor Road. A marked detour will use St. Johns Street, Washington Avenue and Midway Candor Road.

PennDOT District 12 advises motorists of a left lane closure on Interstate 70 east and westbound between Exits 32 (Ginger Hill/Bentleyville) and Exit 35 (Monongahela/Centerville) in Washington County beginning on Friday, August 10 at 8 PM through Monday, August 13 at 6 PM.

closure of Old Brick Road (Routes 3021 and 3023) located in Donegal and West Finley Townships, Washington County. The closure will begin on Monday, August 13 and will continue for approximately two months. A marked detour will be in place using Interstate 70, Route 3024, Route 40, Route 231 and Route 3019.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 1065 (Courtney Hill Road) between Minjock Lane and the Mon Fayette Expressway (Toll 43) in Union Township, Washington County will be closed and detoured indefinitely until a flooding concern can be addressed and resolved.
