Uniontown, PA – William L. Kovach, P.E., has been appointed the District Executive for District 12, which covers Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists of a single lane closure eastbound on Interstate 70 near mile marker 21 between the South Junction of Interstate 79 and Beau Street beginning on Wednesday, April 29 at 8 pm and will be in place until May 2 at 5 pm.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 1003 (Porter Street) will be closed between Green Valley Road and Route 221 (Lippencott Road) in Franklin, Washington and Morgan Townships, Greene County. This closure is set to begin on Monday, April 27 with a tentative completion date of July 14.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 906 between Interstate 70 and Monessen will remain closed until Friday, April 3 at approximately 3:00 PM. This section of road was closed on March 30 around 2:00 AM due to a slide.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists they will notice core drilling operations off the side of the roadway on Vandergrift Lane in Vandergrift daily March 27 through March 30 between the hours of 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM.

All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 3029 (2nd Street) between Post Office Road and Eureaka Hill Road in Smithton Borough, Westmoreland County. The road closure will be only for one hour but can occur on either March 9 or March 10 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that core samples will be taken along Route 19 (Mount Morris Road) between Wades Run Road and the West Virginia Line between January 29 and February 3. These off the road activities will not cause any traffic restrictions. Please be alert to the activities in the area.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Engineering District 12-0 and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have advanced the Laurel Valley Transportation Improvement Project (LVTIP) Section 1 (SR 981, Section Q20) to the Final Design phase. An Open House Public Meeting is planned to update the community about the project. PennDOT’s Project Team will present information about the final design alignment, construction phasing, potential traffic restrictions and detours, and the project schedule. All meeting materials and feedback opportunities will also be available on the project website: www.laurelvalleyproject.com.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 22 in Smith Township between Route 18 and Maple Grove Road will occur so that the beams from the bridge carrying Route 4007 (Bavington Road) can be removed. The detour will use Steubenville Pike.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 4036 (Tony Row Road) between Route 4038 (Quaker Church Road) and Church Road in Perry Township will be closed and detoured starting on February 3 through February 16. This culvert replacement work is weather dependent, so the dates may change.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 22 in Smith Township between Route 18 and Maple Grove Road will occur so that the beams from the bridge carrying Route 4007 (Bavington Road) can be removed. The detour will use Steubenville Pike. The closure is weather dependent and is currently scheduled to occur between 8 PM and 6 AM on January 17 (tentatively westbound) and again on January 18 (tentatively eastbound). These dates may change if needed.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that crews will be doing geotechnical borings on a section of Route 906 (2nd Street) between Kline Street and Mechanics Street in Rostraver Township, Westmoreland County and they may experience minor traffic pattern changes starting January 8, 2020 at 8:00 AM and tentatively lasting until January 16, 2020 at 4:00 PM.
