Fayette County Maintenance Manager, Jason L. Spangler, today announced the following tentative work plan for the week of August 26, 2019. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 2003 (Wharton Furnace Road) in Wharton Township, will be closed between Shepard Road and Jackson Drive beginning on September 9 through September 30 so that a pipe can be replaced.

PennDOT District 12 would like to update motorists on the approximately 31 miles state roadways that will be resurfaced in Westmoreland County this construction season. Because each roadway is different, these daylight projects may include milling, base repair and placing an asphalt overlay. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers when necessary and the project depends on the weather conditions. Tentative locations are approximate. Start dates will be updated as they get closer.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 981 (Alverton Mount Pleasant Road) between Stone Road and K and E Lane in East Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County. This project is set to resume on Friday, September 6 at 7:00 AM with a tentative completion date on September 10.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 119 (Morgantown Road) will be closed between Route 3002 (Gans Road) and Richhill School Road in Springhill Township, Fayette County. This closure includes Larman Mill Road and Cornish Road Intersection with Route 119. There will also be closures of Larman Mill Road and Cornish Road near the intersection.

PennDOT District 12 would like to advise motorists that a section of Route 2047 (Little Creek Road) will be temporarily closed between Fisher Hollow Road and Hawk Lane in West Bethlehem Township, Washington County. This project began this morning on Wednesday August 14 and is expected to be reopened by the end of the business today.

This project is set to begin on Thursday, August 22 at 7:00 AM with a tentative completion date on October 31, 2019.
