Route 18 Bridge
The Route 18 Bridge over a tributary to
Conneaut Creek is located between the
intersection with the Shadeland Road and the intersection with Angling Road in Spring Township,
The existing concrete slab bridge was built in 1925. It is classified as poor condition due to substructure deterioration. Approximately 1,700 vehicles a day use the bridge, on average.
The project will include replacing the existing bridge with a reinforced concrete box culvert. Work will also include new roadway approaches and updated guiderail and pavement markings.
The bridge and the nearby roadway is expected to be closed for approximately two months during construction. A 33-mile detour will be posted using Route 6N, Route 98 and Route 198. Work is expected to occur during the summer of the 2021 construction season.
