Route 27 Resurfacing Projects

Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the job site, and relevant training.

Project Overviews

Troy and Randoph Townships Project

This project includes paving of 6.5 miles of roadway from the Venango County line in Troy Township to the intersection of Route 27 and Route 173 in Randolph Township. Work will also include drainage upgrades, shoulder paving, and updated pavement markings.

Construction started May 4, 2020, weather permitting at the Route 173 intersection, and is scheduled to be completed by late-August 2020.

No detours are expected, but motorists will encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers. Drivers should anticipate travel delays during active work hours. 

Meadville and West Mead Township Project

Thise project includes paving of 2.8 miles of roadway from the intersection with North Street to in the City of Meadville to the intersection with Townline Road in West Mead Township.

Work will also include resurfacing, asphalt overlay, updated drainage, curb ramps, and sidewalks, and traffic signal replacement.

Construction is expected to begin July 20, 2020, weather permitting. The paving is expected to be completed by October 16, 2020. Traffic signal work will be completed during the 2021 construction season.No detours are expected in connection with the project. Motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers. Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and anticipate travel delays during active work hours. 

Project Updates

7-8-20

Construction on Route 27 between the interaction with North Street in the City of Meadville and the intersection with Townline Road in West Mead Township is expected to begin July 20, 2020 weather permitting. No detours are expected.

4-29-20

Work is scheduled to begin at the intersection of Route 173 on May 4, 2020. No detours are expected, but motorists will encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers. Drivers should anticipate travel delays during active work hours.
