Built in 1906, the Buffenmeyer Road Bridge is a riveted Warren pony truss attributed to the American Bridge Company of New York, New York. This single-span bridge is 93' long and 18' wide. It is located in Unity Township, Westmoreland County, where it carries Buffenmeyer Road (TR 699) over Norfolk Southern Railway. This bridge is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.

The character-defining features of this bridge include the truss form (Warren pony), method of connection (riveted), and structural members to include the top and bottom chords, and vertical and diagonal members.

To preserve this historic structure, ownership of the bridge in its entirety will be transferred to an interested party for removal to a new location. The new owner will be responsible for costs associated with removal, rehabilitation and long-term maintenance of the structure.
