The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the Pennsylvania DUI Association, local law enforcement, and Penn Highlands Clearfield Emergency Department Director, Tom Smith, today discussed impaired driving dangers with students at the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center (CCCTC) as part of a statewide enforcement initiative which runs through December 31.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting drivers that snowfall and the potential for snow squalls are in the forecast for areas of northcentral Pennsylvania through Tuesday. Accumulations of up to 12 inches are possible in northern areas and a minimum of 3 inches is expected across much of the region. While accumulation could be slight in southern counties, winds and low temperatures could combine with the snowfall to make conditions slippery and challenging.

Construction is complete for a Route 2007 (Free Spring Church Road) bridge in Fayette Township, Juniata County. The bridge spans an unnamed tributary to Lost Creek near the village of Oakland Mills and was replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of the bridge allows PennDOT to remove it from the state’s structurally deficient bridge list.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) reminds area drivers that lane restrictions will begin Monday on Center Street (Route 1009) in Johnsonburg. Alternating traffic patterns will be in use, controlled by flaggers in the roadway.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists to a change in signage at an intersection in Rush Township, Centre County. A stop sign was placed on Spike Island Road (Route 3027) at the intersection with Ernestville Road (T-315) earlier today.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is notifying area motorists that weight limits have been posted on a Route 4004 (Rich Valley Road) bridge in Shippen Township, Cameron County. The one-lane bridge spans the Driftwood Branch of Sinnemahoning Creek, northwest of the village of Rich Valley.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) advises drivers that rolling roadblocks will be in effect Monday, December 4 on Route 220 in Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County. The rolling roadblocks will be in effect between 9AM and 3PM.

A Route 2013 (Bower Hollow Road) bridge in Haines Township, Centre County, reopened to traffic on Wednesday, November 22. The bridge spans Pine Creek, about two miles northeast of the village of Coburn, and was replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of the bridge allows PennDOT to remove it from the state’s structurally deficient bridge list.

A Route 219 (Ridgway-Johnsonburg Road) bridge, which spans Powers Run at the south end of Johnsonburg, Elk County, reopened to traffic on Tuesday, November 21. This bridge was replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project and allows PennDOT to remove it from the state's structurally deficient bridge list.

In anticipation of the increased traffic that typically occurs during the Thanksgiving holiday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and law enforcement agencies in Centre County kicked off a statewide Click It or Ticket (CIOT) seat-belt enforcement mobilization today by holding a media event at Pizza Hut in State College.

Two Clearfield County bridges on Route 219 in Greenwood Township opened to full traffic yesterday, November 15. They were each replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of the bridges will remove them from PennDOT’s list of bridges in “poor” condition.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting Clinton County residents of upcoming tree trimming. Crews from Dincher and Dincher Tree Surgeons of Williamsport, PA will begin tree trimming work Monday, November 13 along Farrandsville, Road (Route 1001). This work will stretch the length of Farrandsville Road, from the Route 664 intersection near the Woodward Township park to the forestry road in Farrandsville.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will open a new bridge on Marsh Creek Road (Route 1002) in Liberty Township, Centre County by the end of the day today, November 8. Once the new bridge is open to traffic, the detour around the project will be lifted.
