The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) is alerting motorists today that a section of I-80 eastbound in Centre County is closed and will remain closed well into the afternoon. A multiple vehicle fire has I-80 eastbound closed at mile-marker 165 in Centre County, with drivers directed to follow the signed, orange detour.

Construction to replace two McKean County bridges will begin later this month as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of the bridges will allow PennDOT to remove them from McKean County’s structurally deficient bridge list.

Construction for a Route 35 (Main Street) bridge in Fayette Township, Juniata County, is scheduled to begin this month as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Juniata County’s structurally deficient bridge list. The bridge spans a tributary of Little Lost Creek near McCalisterville.

A road closure and detour will begin Wednesday, January 18 as construction work starts at the SGL facility in St. Marys, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). Theresia Street (Route 1005) will be closed from Speer Street to Hall Avenue and drivers will be detoured around the closure using Speer Street and Hall Avenue (Route 1007).

With a few items awaiting completion on the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Route 3010 (Warner Boulevard) project, signal work has been scheduled to begin this week. Weather permitting, work will begin Thursday, January 5 to install the mast arms for the new traffic signal at the intersection of Warner Boulevard/Route 45 and South Atherton Street/Boal Avenue.

With a 2015/2016 project complete on Route 2030 (Bigler/Allport Cutoff) in Clearfield County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will soon remove a 10-ton gross weight limitation on the road. The 10-ton weight limitation will be removed, effective Monday, January 9 on Route 2030 from its intersection with Route 322 to its intersection with Route 53.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists to a change in the traffic signal and signage at an intersection in the borough of Osceola Mills, Clearfield County. Effective tomorrow, December 30, stop signs will be placed on Curtin Street (Old Route 970) at the intersection with Stone Street (Route 53). The traffic signal on Stone Street will be placed in a temporary flashing mode.

The story map is part of an innovative, creative effort to mitigate project impacts on historic resources in the project area.

PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on Interstates 80 and 99 in the north central region of the state, including Clinton, Centre and Clearfield counties. Drivers may find speed reductions on these roadways in other areas as well.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has lifted the speed limit restriction that was in place on I-80 westbound between exit 161/Bellefonte in Centre County through Clearfield County at exit 97.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has reduced the speed limit on I-80 westbound from exit 161/Bellefonte in Centre County through Clearfield County at exit 97. Motorists may find the speed reduction in place along other I-80 sections as well. The speed reduction has been put in place due to weather conditions and vehicle crashes along the roadway in Jefferson County.
