The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will make a traffic pattern change tomorrow, August 23 for bridges that are part of the Route 255 project from Sabula to Penfield.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting area drivers to upcoming railroad work on Route 446 in McKean County. The Western New York and Pennsylvania Railroad will be working August 25 through 28 to replace a railroad crossing surface on Route 446 (Eldred/Portville Road), north of Eldred and near the New York state line.

A Route 1002 (Honey Creek Road) bridge in Armagh Township, Mifflin County, reopened to traffic on Saturday, August 19. The bridge spans Honey Creek, about three miles northeast of the village of Reedsville, and was replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of the bridge allows PennDOT to remove it from the state's structurally deficient bridge list.

A Route 155 (Turtle Point-Larabee Road) bridge in Annin Township, McKean County, reopened to traffic on Saturday, August 19. This bridge spans Rock Run, about three miles southeast of the Village of Larabee and was replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Project. Replacement of the bridge allows PennDOT to remove it from the state’s structurally deficient bridge list.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will begin a bridge superstructure job Monday, August 21 in Decatur Township, Mifflin County. The bridge spans Jacks Creek on Route 2008 (Samuels Church Road), about three miles northeast of the village of Wagner. The existing 42-foot bridge dates from 1954 and carries an average of almost 300 vehicles each day. Replacing the superstructure of the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Mifflin County’s structurally deficient list.

Road work will take place starting tomorrow through next week on Route 346 (West Washington Street) in Bradford, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). The work zone runs from the City of Bradford limits (in front of the car wash) to Mechanic Street. This work is expected to improve roadway ride quality and extend the life of the roadway surface.

Motorists traveling through the village of Cuba Mills in Juniata County will be reminded to obey the posted speed limit on Route 1002 (Lost Creek Road/Cuba Mills Road). The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has placed a radar-controlled speed display sign along the westbound lane of Route 1002 between Big Run Road and Mill Road in Cuba Mills. The speed display board is to aid in curbing speeding, a common type of aggressive driving.

Construction for a Route 120 (Brusselles Street) bridge in the City of Saint Marys, Elk County, is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Elk County’s structurally deficient bridge list.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting motorists that temporary closures are coming soon for I-80 rest areas at the 144 mile-marker near Snow Shoe in Centre County. These will be full closures, with no vehicles allowed to enter the parking lot areas. The closures are necessary to accommodate surveying, rehabilitation work for the rest area approaches and parking lots, curbing, sidewalks, drainage, and lighting. Entrance and exit ramps at the Snow Shoe interchange will also see rehabilitation work.

A Route 6 (South Marvin Street) bridge in Hamlin Township, McKean County, reopened to traffic today. The bridge spans Warner Brook in the Village of Marvindale and was replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement allows PennDOT to remove it from the state's structurally deficient bridge list.

With work continuing on an East Branch Road (Route 3011) bridge near State College, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is reminding drivers that a second, short-term detour will be in place starting Thursday, August 17. Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Centre County’s structurally deficient list. The bridge carries an average of 10,000 vehicles each day.

A Route 150 (Eagle Valley Road) bridge in Beech Creek Township, Clinton County, reopened to traffic today. The bridge spans Masden Run about three miles east of the village of Beech Creek and was replaced as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement allows PennDOT to remove it from the state's structurally deficient bridge list.

Motorists traveling through the village of Costello in Potter County will be reminded to obey the posted speed limit on Route 872 (Austin Road). The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has placed a radar-controlled speed display sign along the northbound lane of Route 872 between Portage Road and First Fork Road in Costello. The speed display board is to aid in curbing speeding, a common type of aggressive driving.

On Saturday, August 12, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will open a new Route 53 bridge in Bigler Township, Clearfield County. Crews have been working since mid-July to replace the old bridge and remove it from Clearfield County’s structurally deficient list.

Beginning August 17, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will be working to replace a bridge in Sweden Township, Potter County. Replacement of the bridge will remove its “functionally obsolete” designation.

On Wednesday, August 16, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will begin a bridge replacement project on Route 246 in Otto Township, McKean County.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is close to completion on a bridge replacement near Lock Haven. The bridge spans Reeds Run on Route 1020 (Mill Hill Road), about a mile east of Lock Haven. Replacement work has required closing the bridge, with a short detour in effect. Replacement will allow PennDOT to remove the bridge from Clinton County’s structurally deficient list.
