The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that work on the “Golden Rod” bridge preservation project will resume Monday, March 25. The bridge spans Clearfield Creek along Route 322 in Lawrence Township, Clearfield County, and the project will improve the structure’s condition rating from “fair” to “good” and improve the ride quality for traffic crossing the structure.

Having published the State College Area Connector (SCAC) Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) Study, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has requested that the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) publish a notice of intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement. This action would initiate the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Phase of project development, which includes conducting detailed field investigations, traffic analysis, and refining engineering alternatives.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) issued an update today for its Atherton Street (Route 3014) project that stretches from Curtin Road to just north of Westerly Parkway in State College. Motorists traveling through the work zone can expect the following Monday, March 18, through Friday, March 22.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that the contractor for a bridge rehabilitation project along Route 22 in Walker Township, Juniata County, plans to restart work on Monday, March 18. This project will see improvements to six bridges in Fermanagh and Walker townships that will improve the ride quality and extend the life of the structures.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Progress Rail will install new active warning devices at the rail crossings along Route 255 (East DuBois Avenue) in DuBois on Tuesday, March 19. Crews will be working at the crossings located at the intersection of Route 219 and Route 255 and the intersection of Route 255 and Division Street.

PennDOT said the SCAC project will focus solely on the transportation needs of the Route 322 corridor moving forward.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that it reopened a bridge spanning Chest Creek along Route 3014 (Five Point Road) in Chest Township, Clearfield County, this afternoon. PennDOT closed the bridge for repairs to its steel beams on Monday, December 11, which improved its overall condition rating from poor to good.
