The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists that Clinton County bridge work along Interstate 80, eastbound and westbound, is expected to start on Monday, May 1. Crews will be working at mile marker 175 between the Lamar/173 interchange and the Lock Haven/177 interchange. Repairs will extend the useful life of the bridges, keeping them in service for years to come.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will begin work on Monday, May 1 to replace two bridges on Route 59 in Keating Township, McKean County. Replacing the bridges will allow PennDOT to remove them from McKean County’s structurally deficient list. One bridge will be replaced in 2017, with the other replaced in 2018.

On Monday, May 1, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will begin replacement work on a Route 46 bridge in Norwich Township.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will perform roadway repairs next week in DuBois. Crews from Clearfield County PennDOT Maintenance will work during daylight hours to make base repairs on Route 255 from the Liberty Boulevard intersection toward the Penn State DuBois campus. PennDOT expects this work to last the entire week, May 1 through 5.

Construction for a Route 44 (Steer Brook Road) bridge in Hebron Township, Potter County, is scheduled to begin next month as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will provide area motorists with a new, modern structure and safer, more efficient travel.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will begin repair work April 26 on a bridge along Route 4011 (Sullivan Road) in Bradford Township. The bridge is currently weight limit posted at 33 ton for single vehicles and 40 ton for combination vehicles. Repairing the bridge will allow PennDOT to maintain the current weight postings.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has scheduled temporary closures for the I-80 Snow Shoe rest areas in Centre County. The closures are necessary to perform heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) work and electrical work in the rest area buildings. These will be full closures, with the entrance and exit ramps gated shut. Each closure will last about two weeks.

On Monday, April 24, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will start preservation work on a bridge spanning Slab Cabin Run on South Atherton Street (Route 3014), near CVS Pharmacy. These repairs will remove the bridge from Centre County’s structurally deficient list.

The project will bring improvements to more than 27 miles of road surface across sections of ten roads in the two counties--providing smoother, safer travel for regional motorists.

The community is invited to a public meeting regarding the replacement of two Centre County bridges included in the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. The meeting will be focused on important information including the construction schedule and traffic changes that are planned to take effect while the bridges are being replaced.
