Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to let motorists know that traffic patterns will be changing on Interstate 70 at the New Stanton Interchange. All four lanes of traffic (both west and eastbound) are scheduled to switch over to a temporary bypass along the westbound side of Interstate 70 along the new westbound On-Ramp area.
Westbound traffic will be moving onto this bypass Monday night 7/11/16 and then in approximately two weeks the eastbound traffic will be moved onto this by-pass as well.
The transitions onto the new temporary bypass will be at the old Hunker exit area on the Eastern end and at the Waltz Mill Bridge area on the Western end of the project.
Traffic will continue to flow with 2 lanes in each direction unrestricted with only nighttime lane closures allowed if required.
This traffic pattern change will allow the contractor to continue to construct the new roadway and Hunker Bridge.
